Restream: scheduled events and finite loops
Restream documents a workflow for creating a prerecorded livestream, selecting a video, optionally setting a loop count, choosing connected channels, and scheduling the event. Its loop documentation specifies a maximum of 10 repeats and a maximum stream length of 40 hours. What to compare before paying
- Continuity: Is the feature a true 24/7 schedule channel, or a scheduled event with a finite duration and repeat count?
- Loop model: Can you repeat one video, schedule a playlist, and have that playlist cycle continuously? Restream says playlists do not support looping; video duplication can extend one up to its listed limit.
- Event and library limits: Compare maximum event duration, number of videos, storage, and any video-library add-on. Limits may differ across plan families.
- Resolution and destinations: Check the plan details for supported output resolution and destinations rather than assuming every plan has the same capabilities.
- Total subscription cost: Include the plan and any video-library add-on needed for your workflow, and verify current billing terms before purchase.

Restream’s scheduling guide lists video-library tiers as Premier ($39/month, two hours, 1080p), Marathon ($79/month, four hours, 1080p), and Media ($239/month, 12 hours, 4K). These are the values shown in that guide, not a guarantee of current availability or billing terms; verify them before subscribing. Restream’s official pricing page describes Upload & Stream as a product capability, but check the current add-on terms for your account.
What scheduling a Restream event involves
- Create a prerecorded livestream: In Restream, start the prerecorded-stream workflow and select the video you want to broadcast.
- Set the loop count if needed: The documented loop option is capped at 10 repeats, and a looped stream at 40 hours.
- Choose destinations: Select the connected channels where the event should appear. Restream’s scheduling guide says Facebook profiles/pages, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X support creating event posts in advance.
- Schedule the event: Set its start time. The guide says the event airs automatically at the scheduled time, though some destinations may require a manual go-live action on that platform.
Check YouTube readiness before scheduling
Restream’s YouTube setup guide says livestreaming must be enabled on the channel. First-time activation requires phone verification followed by a 24-hour wait, and the channel owner must connect the channel. The same guide says YouTube has no stream-duration limit, but archives only streams shorter than 12 hours; treat those as statements from Restream’s guide, not a guarantee about every account or future YouTube policy.
