- “There was a problem starting logiccheck.dll. The specified module could not be found.”
- “Error loading logiccheck.dll. The specified module could not be found.”
- “logiccheck.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.”
logiccheck.dll is associated with Perfect World International and other Perfect World clients. It is not a normal Windows, DirectX, .NET, Visual C++, or hardware-driver file.
The 60-second answer
Do not download logiccheck.dll from a random DLL website, copy it into System32, or begin with regsvr32.
Close the game and launcher, then use the official Perfect World or Arc launcher to repair, update, verify, or reinstall the exact client you use. The file normally belongs in the game’s element folder, such as:

The exact launcher menu varies by client and age. The important point is to restore the complete matching game installation, not just a similarly named file.
What usually caused the error
The game update was incomplete
An interrupted patch, damaged download, or failed installer can remove or corrupt files in the element directory. This is the most likely explanation when the error begins immediately after an update, reinstall, or power interruption.
Antivirus quarantined the file
Security software may remove a game file after a scan. This can happen after an update changes the file or when the game installation has been modified.

PWI editions, regional clients, private servers, mods, and older launchers may not use interchangeable files. Copying files from another installation can leave the client with incompatible versions.
The DLL exists, but a dependency is missing
“The specified module could not be found” does not always mean that logiccheck.dll itself is absent. Windows may be unable to load a supporting library required by it.
The file is corrupt or the wrong architecture
Public records associate this file with a 32-bit Perfect World component. A 32-bit game needs its matching 32-bit files and dependencies even when it runs on 64-bit Windows.

Fix 1: Repair the exact Perfect World client
Start here before changing Windows settings.
- Exit the game.
- Exit the Perfect World, Arc, or regional launcher completely. Check the notification area near the clock and close it there if it remains open.
- Open the launcher from the shortcut or the installation folder.
- Look for a menu named Repair, Verify, Check files, Update, Integrity check, or Re-download.
- Run that process against the same client that displays the error.
- Allow every patch or file check to finish.
- Restart the launcher as administrator:
- Right-click the launcher.
- Select Run as administrator.
- Launch the game again.
A successful repair normally results in the game reaching its login or character screen without the logiccheck.dll message. If the launcher reports that files cannot be repaired, cancel any manual replacement and proceed to a clean reinstall.

Check the file location
Open the game’s installation folder and enter element. If LogicCheck.dll is present there, do not move it. Right-click it, select Properties, and review the Details tab if available.
Third-party metadata for this obscure file is not fully consistent, so a displayed version number, file size, or hash should not be treated as a publisher guarantee. The correct test is whether the official launcher accepts the file and the matching client starts.
Fix 2: Check Windows Security quarantine
If repair completes but the file disappears again, check whether Windows Security removed it.
- Press Windows and search for Windows Security.
- Open Virus & threat protection.
- Select Protection history.
- Expand detections related to the Perfect World installation.
- Record the detection name and the affected path.
- Do not restore the file merely because its name looks familiar.
- First confirm that it came from the official game installer or a verified repair operation.
- Scan the installer and the full game directory.
- If the file is clearly from the official client and the security product identifies a false detection, use the product’s review or false-positive submission process.
Do not disable antivirus globally. If the same file is repeatedly quarantined, contact the security vendor and the game vendor rather than downloading a replacement.
Fix 3: Reinstall the matching client cleanly
Use this when repair fails, the launcher cannot update, or files from multiple editions may have been combined.
- Back up screenshots, settings, or saved data that the game stores outside its main installation folder.
- Uninstall the affected Perfect World client from Settings → Apps → Installed apps on Windows 11, or Settings → Apps → Apps & features on Windows 10.
- Restart Windows.
- Remove leftover files from the old game directory only after confirming that no required personal data is stored there.
- Download the installer from the official Perfect World or Arc distribution channel for your edition.
- Install it into a new folder rather than reusing a modified directory.
- Run the launcher as administrator.
- Let the launcher complete its full update before starting the game.
If you use a regional client, reinstall that regional client. Do not use a DLL from a Steam installation, private server, or another region simply because the filename matches.

Fix 4: Determine whether a dependency is missing
A file can be present and still fail to load because Windows cannot find a library it requires. This is especially relevant if the message changes after repair to mention msvcr80.dll, msvcp80.dll, or another Microsoft runtime file.
First, repeat the official game repair. Do not install a generic “DLL pack.”

- Identify whether the game is 32-bit. Perfect World clients associated with this file are reported as 32-bit.
- Install the x86 Microsoft Visual C++ package required by the game, even if Windows itself is 64-bit.
- Install x64 packages only when another application requires them.
- Restart Windows.
- Run the game repair again and test the launcher.
Older applications may require older redistributables, and current packages do not automatically replace every legacy runtime. Use Microsoft’s official redistributable documentation and the game installer’s bundled runtime when provided.
Check whether Windows is 32-bit or 64-bit
- Right-click Start.
- Select System.
- Find System type under device or Windows specifications.
This describes Windows, not necessarily the game. A 32-bit game still needs 32-bit game files and 32-bit runtime dependencies on 64-bit Windows.
Fix 5: Repair Windows components only when Windows is also failing
logiccheck.dll is associated with the game, not protected Windows system files. DISM and SFC generally will not recreate it in the PWI element folder.

- Wait for it to finish.
- Then run:

- Restart Windows.
- Run the Perfect World launcher repair again.
SFC repairs protected Windows files. It does not normally restore an ordinary third-party game DLL.
If repeatedly hunting through Windows repair commands is leaving you unsure which component changed, Outbyte PC Repair provides a free scan that shows reported problems, while repair is handled by the full version; reinstalling the Perfect World client remains the definitive fix for this game file.
Fix 6: Update drivers only if the symptoms point to a driver
A graphics or chipset driver is not the normal owner of logiccheck.dll. Driver work is relevant when the game also crashes with display errors, Device Manager reports a problem, or other games fail.
- Right-click Start.
- Select Device Manager.
- Expand Display adapters.
- Right-click the graphics device and select Properties.
- Open the Driver tab and check the status.
- Use Update driver, or download the matching driver from the computer or graphics-device manufacturer.
- Restart Windows and test the game.
Do not remove random devices or install a 64-bit driver package solely because logiccheck.dll is missing.
If manually identifying stale hardware drivers means hunting through several manufacturer pages and matching model numbers, Outbyte Driver Updater provides a free scan showing reported driver issues, while installation is handled by the full version; it is not a substitute for repairing the Perfect World client.
Why regsvr32 usually does not apply
Do not run this as a routine fix:
regsvr32 LogicCheck.dll
regsvr32 is intended for self-registering COM or OLE DLLs that provide registration entry points. There is no reliable indication that this game DLL is a COM component. Running the command may produce an entry-point error and does not restore missing dependencies or repair a damaged game installation.
Use regsvr32 only when the application vendor specifically instructs you to register a particular COM/OLE library.
Do not copy the file into System32 or SysWOW64
The reported location is the game’s element directory. Copying it into either Windows system folder can:
- Leave the game unable to find the file where it expects it.
- Mix files from incompatible clients.
- Create confusion about which copy Windows is loading.
- Expose the system to an unverified replacement.
Manual copying is reasonable only from a known-good copy of the same official client build, and it should be copied back to that client’s element folder.

If the error returns after every repair
Work through these checks:
- Verify that the launcher, game executable, and
elementfolder belong to the same edition. - Remove leftover mod files and old patch data.
- Check free disk space.
- Confirm that your Windows account can write to the installation folder.
- Install to a new directory and test before restoring modifications.
- Check launcher logs for failed downloads or permission errors.
- Review Windows Security protection history after each repair.
- Run a full Microsoft Defender scan. Use an offline scan if malware or unauthorized modification is suspected.
- Test the clean installation from a new local Windows user profile if the problem affects only one account.
System Restore is a fallback when a known recent system change caused several applications to fail. It restores broader system settings and installed programs; it does not selectively repair one game DLL.
Frequently asked questions
Is logiccheck.dll a Windows file?
No. It is publicly associated with Perfect World/PWI and should normally remain in the game’s installation directory.
Which Perfect World version is affected?
The filename has been associated with PWI and regional Perfect World clients. The exact launcher, folder, and required dependencies depend on the edition. A Steam, regional, private-server, or modified installation should be repaired with its own matching files.
Is the file missing if the message says “module not found”?
Not necessarily. The file may exist while a dependency is missing. Repair the game first, then investigate the specific dependency named by a changed error.
Should I download logiccheck.dll separately?
No. Random DLL downloads can contain malware, the wrong architecture, an incompatible build, or a file that does not solve the underlying problem. Use the official game installer or launcher repair process.
Will SFC restore it?
Usually not. SFC repairs protected Windows files, while logiccheck.dll belongs to the Perfect World installation.
What if the launcher keeps deleting it?
Inspect Protection history, scan the full client, and identify the security product’s detection. Do not repeatedly restore the file or disable protection without verifying its origin. The safest long-term solution is a clean official installation reviewed by the security vendor if detection continues.
Does Windows 11 change the repair?
The same sequence applies on Windows 10 and Windows 11: repair the matching game client, check quarantine, restore dependencies, and avoid Windows system folders.
