logilda.dll is a Logitech Download Assistant file, not a Windows system DLL. If logilda.dll is missing, not found, or cannot be loaded during startup, the usual cause is an old Logitech startup entry pointing to software that was removed or upgraded.
The safest first fix is normally to disable the failed Logitech Download Assistant startup item or uninstall the assistant. Do not download a replacement DLL from a random website, copy one into System32, or use regsvr32 as a guess.

Logitech’s current Download Assistant is described as a Windows notification tool that helps supported devices obtain software such as Logi Options+ or G HUB. The current assistant supports Windows 10 and later. Older installations and the current Download Assistant 2.0 should not automatically be treated as the same release.
Some third-party metadata listings show version 1.10.77.0, with observed 32-bit and 64-bit file sizes of approximately 1.36 MB and 3.75 MB. Those figures are not universal requirements. The correct file depends on the Logitech package that installed it.
Is logilda.dll malware?
The filename alone cannot prove that the file is safe. A genuine copy is normally associated with Logitech, but malware can use similar filenames.

- Right-click the error’s referenced file path, if the file still exists.
- Choose Properties.
- Open the Digital Signatures tab.
- Select the Logitech signature and click Details.
- Confirm that Windows reports the signature as valid.
- Check the General and Details tabs for the publisher and file description.
A copy in C:WindowsSystem32LogiLDA.dll may be legitimate, but the path alone does not prove authenticity. Be cautious if the file is unsigned, has an invalid signature, or is located in a user-writable temporary folder.
If your security software quarantined the file, do not restore it merely because the name looks familiar. Restore it only when the signature, location, startup association, and antivirus results all make sense. Otherwise, remove the startup entry and reinstall Logitech software from its official support page.

- “Missing entry: LogiFetch” means Windows found the DLL but the startup command requested an exported function named
LogiFetchthat the loaded file does not provide. - “The program can’t start because logilda.dll is missing” usually indicates that an application or startup command expects the file at launch.
- “Not designed to run on Windows” can indicate a damaged file, an incompatible architecture, or a mismatched copy.
- An error immediately after sign-in points strongly toward a startup entry.
- An error only inside a particular Logitech application points toward that application’s installation.
A commonly reported startup command resembles this:
C:WindowsSystem32rundll32.exe C:WindowsSystem32LogiLDA.dll,LogiFetch
The exact command varies by installation. rundll32.exe is being used to launch a function from the Logitech DLL, not to register the DLL.
Fix 1: Disable Logitech Download Assistant at startup
Time needed: 2–3 minutes
This is the best first step when the error appears during boot or sign-in and your mouse or keyboard otherwise works.

The startup error should no longer appear after restarting. Your basic mouse or keyboard input should normally continue working because the assistant is not the same thing as the device’s basic HID driver.
Disabling the assistant removes its startup and notification behavior. It does not necessarily remove Logitech device software, profiles, button mappings, gestures, lighting controls, or macros.
If you cannot find a matching entry, continue to the next fix rather than deleting files.
Fix 2: Uninstall Logitech Download Assistant
Time needed: 3–5 minutes
If you do not need Logitech’s installation notifications, remove the assistant cleanly.
Recommended Free Tools
- Open Start.
- Select Settings.
- Choose Apps.
- Open Installed apps on Windows 11, or Apps & features on some Windows 10 installations.
- Search for Logi Download Assistant or Logitech Download Assistant.
- Select the three-dot menu beside it.
- Choose Uninstall.
- Follow the removal wizard.
- Restart Windows.
This removes the owning application instead of leaving Windows with a broken launcher.
Do not remove your entire Logitech software stack unless you intend to. Options+, G HUB, SetPoint, Unifying Software, and other older packages serve different devices and feature sets. Logitech’s current support guidance generally directs supported devices toward Options+ or G HUB, while some older utilities are no longer maintained for current workflows.
How to tell whether it worked
After restarting, confirm that:
- The
logilda.dllmessage is gone. - Your mouse and keyboard still respond.
- Options+, G HUB, or another required Logitech application still opens.
- Advanced device features still work.
If the error remains after uninstalling the assistant, an orphaned startup command may still exist. Continue with the startup-location checks below.
Fix 3: Repair or reinstall the Logitech software you actually use
Time needed: 10–20 minutes
Use this fix when you need device customization, gaming profiles, lighting, macros, gestures, or update notifications.
- Identify the software your device uses:
- G HUB for many Logitech gaming devices.
- Options+ for many current productivity mice and keyboards.
- An older Logitech package for legacy hardware.
- Open Logitech’s official support and downloads site manually.
- Search for the exact device model.
- Download the current installer for that device and Windows version.
- Close the Logitech application.
- Run the installer.
- If Windows asks for permission, choose Yes.
- Restart Windows after installation.
- Test the device and its advanced features.
Do not install a loose logilda.dll file separately. The installer needs to place the correct components together and recreate only the startup entries the current package requires.

If reinstalling does not help
Uninstall the specific Logitech application first, restart, and then install a fresh copy from the device’s official support page. Avoid removing drivers manually unless Logitech’s own instructions for that device require it.
A basic HID mouse or keyboard may work through Windows’ built-in drivers, but advanced buttons, profiles, gestures, lighting, and macros may stop working until the correct Logitech software is installed again.
Fix 4: Check Startup folders and Run entries
Time needed: 5–15 minutes
If the error is not listed in Task Manager, Windows may be launching it through a Startup folder or a Run key. Microsoft documents these as standard startup mechanisms.
First check the Startup folders:
- Press Windows + R.
- Enter:
shell:startup
- Press Enter.
- Look for a Logitech shortcut or launcher.
- If you identify one that clearly calls
LogiLDA.dll, move it to a temporary folder rather than permanently deleting it. - Restart Windows.
Then check the shared startup folder:
- Press Windows + R.
- Enter:
shell:common startup
- Press Enter.
- Check for a matching Logitech shortcut.
Run keys require more care:
- Press Windows + R.
- Enter:
regedit
- Press Enter.
- Before changing anything, select File > Export and save a backup.
- Check these locations:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun
- Look for a value that clearly references
LogiLDA.dllor Logitech Download Assistant. - Record the value name and command.
- Disable or remove only the clearly identified Logitech value.
- Restart Windows.
Do not delete unrelated registry entries. If you are unsure which entry owns the command, use Microsoft Sysinternals Autoruns to identify the startup source instead of guessing.
Fix 5: Check antivirus quarantine and file integrity
Time needed: 5–10 minutes
Security software may have removed, quarantined, or blocked a Logitech component.
- Open Windows Security.
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Choose Protection history.
- Look for an event involving
LogiLDA.dll, Logitech software, or the relevant installer. - Check the original file path and detection details.
- Verify the file’s Logitech digital signature before restoring anything.
- Run a current scan.
Restore the file only if the signature is valid, the original location is expected, the startup association is legitimate, and the security scan is clean. If any of those checks fail, leave it quarantined.
The safer repair is to uninstall the broken assistant or startup item and reinstall the complete Logitech package from Logitech. A replacement DLL from an untrusted download site can contain malware, belong to the wrong release, use the wrong architecture, or leave the original broken startup command untouched.

Fix 6: Update or reinstall the device driver
Time needed: 10–20 minutes
Use this when the error began after a device change, Windows Update, or incomplete driver installation.
- Right-click Start.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand the relevant category, such as:
- Mice and other pointing devices
- Keyboards
- Human Interface Devices
- Cameras
- Sound, video and game controllers
- Right-click the Logitech device.
- Choose Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for drivers.
- Restart Windows.
For a clean device-specific repair:
- In Device Manager, right-click the affected Logitech device.
- Choose Uninstall device.
- If offered, select the option to remove the driver package only when you are certain it belongs to the affected device.
- Restart Windows.
- Install the current driver or Logitech application from Logitech’s official support page.
Windows 11 also exposes optional driver updates at Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates > Driver updates. Windows 10 uses Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View optional updates when those updates are available. Microsoft’s Update Catalog may contain Logitech HID or SoftwareComponent packages, but it is not a general logilda.dll repair source.
When several devices and driver packages are involved, Outbyte Driver Updater can reduce the manual work of hunting versions; its free scan identifies stale drivers, while driver installation is handled by the full version. Reinstalling the exact Logitech application remains the definitive fix when this file belongs to that application.
If the entry returns
A Logitech package or Windows driver update may be recreating the startup item. Check:

- Device Manager driver details.
Update the affected device through Logitech’s current support page, then uninstall Download Assistant through Installed apps if you do not want it. Do not repeatedly delete the DLL itself.
Fix 7: Repair Windows component files
Time needed: 15–30 minutes
SFC and DISM are useful when Windows Update is damaged, other Windows components are failing, or system corruption affects more than Logitech software. They are not the primary repair for an orphaned Logitech startup entry.
- Open Start.
- Search for Command Prompt.
- Right-click it.
- Choose Run as administrator.
- Run DISM first:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
- Wait for it to finish.
- Then run:
sfc /scannow
- Restart Windows.
Microsoft recommends repairing the Windows image with DISM before running System File Checker.
How to interpret the result
- “Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations” means SFC found no damaged protected Windows files.
- “Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them” means Windows repaired protected components.
- If SFC cannot complete, restart and run the commands again from an elevated Command Prompt.
- If the
logilda.dllmessage remains but other Windows problems are absent, return to the Logitech startup and software fixes.
Outbyte PC Repair can make the manual process easier by scanning for system problems before repair; its free scan shows what it finds, while repair is handled by the full version. It is not required, and a Logitech-specific reinstall remains the definitive fix when the startup entry is the real cause.
Fix 8: Use System Restore only for a recent change
Time needed: 20–45 minutes
System Restore is appropriate when the error began immediately after a clearly identifiable Logitech installation, Windows update, driver change, or cleanup operation.
- Press Windows + R.
- Enter:
rstrui.exe
- Press Enter.
- Choose a restore point created before the problem began.
- Select Scan for affected programs when available.
- Review the results.
- Start the restore only if you understand what will be changed.
- Restart Windows.
- Recheck Startup apps and Installed apps afterward.
System Restore may also bring back unwanted Logitech software or its startup entry. It is not necessary for the normal orphaned-entry case.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why you should not use regsvr32
regsvr32 is not a general DLL repair command. Microsoft describes it as a utility for registering DLLs that expose registration entry points such as DllRegisterServer.
LogiLDA.dll is normally launched by a startup command through rundll32.exe; that does not mean it should be registered with regsvr32. Registering it will not:
- Recreate a missing file.
- Repair a broken Logitech installation.
- Remove an orphaned startup entry.
- Fix a missing
LogiFetchexport. - Correct a 32-bit and 64-bit mismatch.
Do not run:
regsvr32 logilda.dll
unless Logitech specifically provides that instruction for the exact package and version.
32-bit and 64-bit considerations
Do not choose a DLL based only on whether Windows is 64-bit.
On 64-bit Windows, System32 commonly contains 64-bit system binaries, while SysWOW64 contains 32-bit system binaries. The correct Logitech file is determined by the package and startup command, not by copying whichever file has the matching name.

A mismatched file can produce:
- “Not designed to run on Windows.”
- Missing exported-function errors.
- Startup failures that return after every reboot.
- New conflicts with Logitech software.
The correct repair is to reinstall the owning Logitech package rather than manually moving a 32-bit or 64-bit DLL.

Why the error happens
The most common causes are:
| Cause | What happened | Best response |
|---|---|---|
| Orphaned startup entry | Logitech software was removed or upgraded but its launcher remained | Disable the entry or uninstall Download Assistant |
| Incomplete installation | The assistant or device package is missing files | Reinstall the exact Logitech software |
| Antivirus quarantine | Security software removed or blocked the DLL | Verify the signature and security history |
| Driver update | A device package recreated or changed the launcher | Check driver history and Optional updates |
| Wrong architecture or damaged file | Windows cannot load the installed binary | Reinstall the owning package |
| Broader Windows corruption | Other system components also fail | Run DISM, then SFC |
The exact Logitech hardware models associated with older copies vary by package, device, Windows version, and installation history. The presence of LogiLDA.dll does not identify one specific mouse, keyboard, webcam, or gaming peripheral.
Frequently asked questions
Will disabling Logitech Download Assistant break my mouse or keyboard?
Usually, it only removes installation and update notifications. Basic HID input commonly continues to work. Advanced features may depend on Options+, G HUB, or another Logitech application and should be tested separately.
Should I delete C:WindowsSystem32LogiLDA.dll?
No. Remove or disable the launcher first, or uninstall the owning Logitech package. Deleting the file can leave the same startup error and complicate future repairs.
Should I download logilda.dll from a DLL website?
No. Unaffiliated DLL downloads can contain malware, use the wrong version, have the wrong architecture, or fail to repair the startup command. Use Logitech’s official support installer instead.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIs logilda.dll part of Windows?
No. It is associated with Logitech Download Assistant and is not a Microsoft Windows system DLL.
Why does the error say “Missing entry: LogiFetch”?
The startup command is attempting to call a function named LogiFetch from the DLL. The installed file may be from a different Logitech release, damaged, or absent while the old command remains.
Do I need to reinstall Visual C++, DirectX, or .NET?
Not as a normal first step. This is a Logitech assistant problem, not automatically a missing Microsoft runtime problem. Reinstall the owning Logitech software first.
What if the entry returns after I disable it?
Find what recreated it by checking Logitech installation history, Windows Update history, Optional driver updates, and recent device software. Uninstall Download Assistant through Settings, then install only the Logitech software you actually need.
When should I contact Logitech support?
Contact Logitech when the correct device installer repeatedly fails, advanced device features stop working after reinstalling, or the official package restores the error immediately. Provide the device model, Windows version, exact error text, file path, and digital-signature result.
