Most Logitech G930 audio cutouts come from the receiver’s USB connection, poor wireless placement, outdated Logitech Gaming Software, low battery, or a lost receiver-headset pairing. Fix them in that order: connect the receiver directly to the computer, try another motherboard-connected USB port, update Logitech Gaming Software to version 8.79 or later, improve receiver placement and charge the headset, then perform the official re-pair procedure if the headset still disappears.
Why a Logitech G930 keeps cutting out
The G930 is a wireless headset. Audio reaches it through a USB receiver, so an interruption anywhere between the computer, receiver, radio link, headset battery, or pairing data can sound like a brief mute, repeated disconnect, or complete shutdown.

Several symptoms help identify the likely source:
- The dropout changes when you move the receiver: suspect the USB port, a hub, interference, or an obstructed location.
- The headset vanishes and then returns: the receiver may have stopped responding or the headset may have lost its link; software version and re-pairing checks become important.
- Cutouts happen near an empty battery or runtime is much shorter than before: check charging and battery condition.
- Nothing changes after the connection, software, radio, and pairing checks: an aged battery, receiver, or headset may be failing.
Logitech specifically warns that some USB ports and USB hubs can temporarily stop the G930 receiver. That is why the physical connection should be tested before changing files or attempting community workarounds.

1. Remove every USB hub from the connection
- Shut down any game or voice-chat application that is using the headset.
- Unplug the G930 receiver or charging base from a USB hub, monitor, keyboard, docking station, or front-panel extender.
- Connect it directly to the computer.
- On a desktop, use a rear USB port connected directly to the motherboard when possible. On a laptop, use a built-in USB port rather than a hub or dock.
- Play audio for several minutes and move the cable gently enough to confirm that the connector is seated, without repeatedly unplugging it.
If the cutouts stop after this change, leave the receiver on that direct port. A hub that works for storage or a mouse can still be unreliable for a wireless audio receiver.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
2. Test another direct USB port
If the problem remains, move the receiver to a different USB port that is also directly connected to the computer. Test one port at a time so you know which change affected the result. Desktop users should compare at least one rear motherboard-connected port with the original location. If only one port is stable, keep using it and avoid the unstable port for the G930.
3. Update Logitech Gaming Software
Logitech’s disconnect and standby guidance calls for Logitech Gaming Software version 8.79 or later. Open the installed Logitech Gaming Software application, check its version information, and install a later supported release if your copy is older. Restart the computer after the update, reconnect the receiver directly, and test the headset again.
Do not treat an old forum-reported version as an official requirement. A community report mentions version 8.82.151 together with an older G930 driver, but that combination is historical and user-reported rather than a current Logitech-supported procedure.

4. Put the receiver in a clear location
The G930 manual says the headset can work up to 40 feet from the wireless adapter under suitable conditions. That distance is not a guarantee: walls, metal objects, and other wireless devices can reduce the usable range.
- Place the receiver in the charging base if you use the base with your setup.
- Put the base in an open, unobstructed area with a clear path toward your normal seating position.
- Keep it away from the back of a desktop tower, where the metal chassis can obstruct the radio signal.
- Separate it from keyboards, monitors, other wireless receivers, and Wi-Fi routers.
- Test the headset close to the receiver first. If it is stable nearby but cuts out at your usual distance, distance or obstruction is the leading clue.
Once you find a stable location, do not hide the receiver behind the tower or inside a crowded cable compartment. A short USB extension can sometimes help you position the receiver in the open, but the receiver should still connect through a reliable direct computer port rather than a hub.
5. Charge the headset and evaluate the battery
The manual lists up to 10 hours of play time on a full charge and up to two and a half hours for a full charge. Those are the manual’s stated figures, not a promise of runtime for an aged battery or every usage pattern.

- Connect the headset to its charging connection and allow a complete charge, reported by the manual as up to two and a half hours.
- Test it again with the receiver in a clear, direct connection.
- Notice whether cutouts occur mainly when the charge indicator is low or after a familiar amount of use.
- Compare current runtime with the headset’s earlier behavior. A sharp reduction, sudden shutdowns, or battery readings that do not match actual use point toward battery wear.
The rechargeable battery is removable for disposal and recycling, and the manual says a replacement battery is available online. Because the G930 is an older model, verify the replacement’s model compatibility, connector, voltage, capacity, physical condition, and return terms before buying. A battery that does not match those specifications can create a different fault or may not fit safely.

Use the official reconnection procedure when the headset disappears, the receiver is detected inconsistently, or the connection does not recover after the USB and radio checks. You need a fully charged headset, the receiver connected directly to the computer, and a small paperclip.
- Charge the headset fully, then power it off.
- Connect the receiver directly to the computer rather than through a hub.
- Find the small reset hole on the receiver.
- Insert the paperclip into the reset hole until the receiver LED begins rapidly blinking.
- Press and hold the headset power button for 10 seconds.
- Release the button only after the receiver LED becomes solid green.
- Play audio and check whether the connection remains stable while you stay within a short distance of the receiver.
If the LED does not begin rapidly blinking, remove the paperclip and repeat the reset action carefully; do not force it. If the LED never becomes solid green after the 10-second power-button hold, return to the direct-port and charge checks before trying the sequence again.

Legacy workarounds: what to avoid treating as a guaranteed fix
Older community posts describe editing a G930 software manifest value, battery turnOffInterval="900", to prevent a 15-minute shutdown. Another user report combines Logitech Gaming Software 8.82.151 with an older G930 driver. These reports are experiments from users, not current Logitech-supported instructions.
If you investigate either idea, make a backup of the original file first and record exactly what you changed so you can restore it. A manifest edit can be overwritten by a software update and can introduce a new configuration problem. Do not start with these workarounds: the direct USB connection, current supported software, receiver placement, battery check, and official re-pair procedure are safer and easier to undo.

When replacing the battery makes sense
A battery replacement is most sensible when the headset works reliably at close range, remains stable after re-pairing, and the problem correlates with reduced runtime or low charge. Check the replacement listing carefully because the G930 is an older model and current stock, condition, and compatibility can vary.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.

- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
- Match the exact G930 model and connector.
- Confirm voltage and capacity are specified for the headset.
- Check whether the cell is new, refurbished, or used.
- Read the seller’s return terms before opening or installing it.
If a known-compatible battery does not change the shutdowns, the receiver or headset electronics may be the limiting part. At that point, compare the battery’s total cost and availability with another G930 rather than repeatedly buying unverified parts.
How to prevent future G930 dropouts
- Keep the receiver on a direct computer USB port instead of a hub.
- Use an open charging-base location away from the tower’s rear panel, metal obstructions, Wi-Fi routers, monitors, keyboards, and other wireless receivers.
- Keep the headset charged before long sessions and watch for runtime that steadily declines.
- After moving the receiver to another computer or port, test the connection before starting a long game or call.
- Keep a record of the working Logitech Gaming Software version and avoid unverified manifest edits unless you can restore the original file.
As an optional shortcut for this hardware issue, Outbyte Driver Updater can scan more than 100 devices, identify outdated, corrupted, or missing drivers, install only official drivers, show current and recommended versions, and provide driver backup, restore, and scheduled scans. It runs on Windows 11, 10, 8, and 7; a 2-day free trial is available without a credit card before a subscription.
Final check
A stable G930 setup has the receiver directly connected, positioned openly, running Logitech Gaming Software 8.79 or later, and paired with a charged headset. If those conditions are met and the headset still cuts out, battery wear or failing hardware is more likely than a simple Windows setting.
