To find the Lost Guitar in The Forge, accept Bard’s quest at the campfire beside the Potions shop in Stonewake’s Cross. Enter The Cave, take the early left route near Umut the Brave, and walk into the moss, leaves, grass or bush covering a concealed drop. The fall leads to the Secret Cave, where the guitar rests beside a skeleton or undead figure. Return it to Bard to receive the Unknown Key.
How to start the Lost Guitar quest
- Travel to Stonewake’s Cross, the first area.
- Find Bard sitting beside a campfire near the Potions shop.
- Interact with Bard and accept the Lost Guitar quest before entering the cave.
Where the Secret Cave entrance is
- Use the nearby entrance to The Cave in Stonewake’s Cross.
- At the early junction near Umut the Brave and the other NPCs, follow the left-side route.
- Look for a dirt or grass patch with moss, leaves, a bush or other vegetation covering the wall or floor.
- Walk directly into the vegetation. It is a pass-through opening and drop, not a conventional doorway.
Find and collect the guitar
The hidden room is dim and small. Locate the skeleton or undead figure; the guitar is on the ground beside it. Interact with the guitar to pick it up.
Return the guitar to Bard
- Leave the Secret Cave by the ladder or by retracing the cave route.
- Exit The Cave and return to Bard’s campfire in Stonewake’s Cross.
- Interact with Bard to complete the quest and collect the reward.
Rewards and what the Unknown Key does
The consistently reported reward is the Unknown Key. Pro Game Guides reports an additional $1,000 and 250 XP, while other walkthroughs confirm cash and experience without specifying amounts, so those figures may change with updates.

The quest will not progress
Speak with Bard and accept the quest first. The concealed pickup is intended to work after the quest is active.

I cannot find the entrance
Search the early left branch near Umut rather than the deeper tunnels. Move into every mossy, leafy or grassy patch along that route; the opening is deliberately hidden by vegetation.
Do I need combat preparation?
Current walkthroughs describe the objective as combat-free, so no special combat setup is required. Concentrate on the Umut landmark and the concealed drop.
