The Billiard Room dartboard puzzle is solved from the center outward, not with normal PEMDAS precedence. Read each colored section in spatial order, apply its operation to the running total, then click the final number on the dartboard.
The dartboard color key
| Color | What to do |
|---|---|
| Blue | Establish the starting value or add the blue number to the running total. |
| Yellow | Subtract the yellow number. |
| Pink | Multiply by the pink number. |
| Purple | Divide by the purple number. |
Blue sections provide the base value on a new sequence. After that, each color applies its operation to the result immediately before it.

How to calculate a board
- Identify the innermost highlighted section.
- Write down its value as your starting number.
- Move outward ring by ring, following the board’s layout.
- Apply each color’s operation immediately; do not reorder the expression using PEMDAS.
- When every section and bullseye modifier has been processed, click that final number around the dartboard.
The answer is normally a number from 1 to 20. A wrong click resets the sequence, so you can calculate the same board again.
Why PEMDAS gives the wrong answer
This puzzle uses spatial order rather than conventional arithmetic precedence. For example, a pink multiplication that appears after a yellow subtraction is performed after the subtraction, even though multiplication would normally come first in PEMDAS.

Bullseye modifiers
Square bullseye
A square bullseye squares the running result associated with the bullseye’s color. If the relevant value is 4, the modifier makes it 4 × 4 = 16.
Diamond bullseye
A diamond bullseye reverses the digits of the relevant number: 41 becomes 14, and 12 becomes 21. Apply this to the number tied to the diamond’s color before selecting the final answer.

What changes as you progress
The opening board is usually a single highlighted inner blue number, so selecting that number solves it. Later boards add more colored sections, divisions, bullseye modifiers and harder arithmetic. Destructoid’s described sequence normally involves four equations after that initial selection, while later runs can present a greater number and variety of boards.
The solutions are randomized, so a fixed answer list cannot reliably solve every run. Calculate the board currently displayed rather than relying on a previous solution.

Quick Recap
Quick troubleshooting checklist
- Start at the innermost highlighted section, not the largest visible number.
- Follow rings from center to edge.
- Use subtraction and multiplication in the order shown on the board, not PEMDAS order.
- Check whether a square or diamond bullseye changes a value.
- Click the final result from 1 to 20, then retry after a reset if the click was wrong.
