The game behind the “four copies” headline is Lost Soul Aside, but the figure refers to a reported observation during a one-hour PlayStation China promotional livestream—not confirmed total sales in China. No official China sales total is established by the available reporting.
What the four-copy report actually says
GizChina reported on September 1, 2025, that journalist Daniel Camilo said Lost Soul Aside “sold only 4 copies during a 1 hour livestream from PlayStation China!” The report frames the number as something that may have been sold during that stream. It is an anecdote about one promotional event, not a sales dataset or a report of the game’s total sales in China. GizChina’s report reproduces the post, but the underlying X post could not be independently accessed for verification.

That distinction matters: a livestream’s observed purchases cannot establish lifetime sales, sales across every retailer, or performance on every platform. The four-copy figure should therefore be described as reported, not confirmed.
Which game is it?
Lost Soul Aside (《失落之魂》) is an action-adventure role-playing game developed by Ultizero Games. PlayStation describes it as the studio’s debut title and associates it with the China Hero Project, its initiative to support developers in China. The project connection does not make the reported livestream figure evidence about the project’s overall commercial prospects.

Platforms and release dates
PlayStation’s official listings show the game for PS5 and PC, so “PS5 exclusive” is incomplete if read to mean it is available only on PlayStation hardware.
| Official listing | Platform information | Release date shown |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation US | PS5 | August 29, 2025 |
| PlayStation China | PS5 | August 28, 2025 |
These dates are listed for different regions, so they are not competing dates for the same market. PlayStation’s February 12, 2025 Southeast Asia announcement had earlier set a May 30 launch for PS5 and PC, with standard digital and disc editions; the later regional product listings show the final August dates. PlayStation.Blog’s announcement records the earlier plan.

What the number does—and does not—tell us
- It does: identify a reported four-copy observation tied to one hour-long PlayStation China promotional stream.
- It does not: establish total sales in China, lifetime sales, all-platform sales, or the game’s performance across the market.
- It also does not: provide a basis for comparing Lost Soul Aside with other games or assessing the China Hero Project as a whole.
No official total China sales figure accompanies the report. Until a source publishes a defined sales measure and scope, the headline number should not be treated as a market-wide result.
