To complete Lucatiel of Mirrah’s quest in Dark Souls II, exhaust her dialogue at her encounters, summon her for at least three boss fights, and make sure she survives each one. Only then speak to her at Aldia’s Keep to receive Lucatiel’s Set and the Mirrah Greatsword. Speaking to her there before meeting the summon requirement can end the quest without its rewards for that playthrough.
Who is Lucatiel of Mirrah?
Lucatiel is a warrior from Mirrah who travels to Drangleic searching for her brother and a cure for the Undead curse. As the curse advances, she fears that she is losing her memories and her sense of self. She recalls that her older brother was Mirrah’s most decorated swordsman and believes the curse took him.

Her plea captures the heart of her story: “My name is Lucatiel. I beg of you, remember my name. For I may not myself…” She also describes her fear as “Loss of memory, loss of self.” These lines are reproduced as in-game dialogue by the DarkSouls II Wiki.
How to complete Lucatiel’s quest
- Find Lucatiel and exhaust her dialogue. Speak with her at each encounter before moving on. The four pre-final areas are No-man’s Wharf, the Lost Bastille, Earthen Peak, and Black Gulch.
- Summon her for boss fights. The guide associates No-man’s Wharf with Flexile Sentry, the Lost Bastille with the Lost Sinner, Earthen Peak with Smelter Demon, and Black Gulch with the Rotten.
- Keep her alive through at least three fights. A summon only counts toward the stated requirement if Lucatiel survives the boss encounter. If you lose an opportunity, the guide says a Bonfire Ascetic can let you repeat a boss; exact behavior may depend on the game version.
- Go to Aldia’s Keep for the final conversation. Once the summon-and-survival requirement is met, speak with her there to receive her equipment and sword.
Where to find Lucatiel and her summon opportunities
| Encounter area | Associated boss | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No-man’s Wharf | Flexile Sentry | Exhaust her dialogue, then summon her for the fight. |
| Lost Bastille | Lost Sinner | Exhaust her dialogue, then summon her for the fight. |
| Earthen Peak | Smelter Demon | Exhaust her dialogue, then summon her for the fight. |
| Black Gulch | The Rotten | Exhaust her dialogue, then summon her for the fight. |
| Aldia’s Keep | None | Final conversation and reward point; do not speak to her here before meeting the requirement. |
Her exact placement can differ between the original Dark Souls II and Scholar of the First Sin. The guide specifically flags placement differences at No-man’s Wharf and Earthen Peak, so check the location notes for your edition if she is not where expected.

What happens if you talk to her at Aldia’s Keep too early?
The cited guides warn that reaching Lucatiel at Aldia’s Keep and speaking to her before completing the required three surviving summons can cause her to disappear without giving her equipment for that playthrough. Complete the boss requirement before initiating that final conversation.
