Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners became the first guest character in the Guilty Gear franchise. She joined Guilty Gear -Strive- as the final character in Season Pass 4, first arriving on PlayStation, Xbox and PC on August 21, 2025, then reaching the Nintendo Switch Edition on December 18, 2025.
Why Lucy is a landmark for Guilty Gear
CD PROJEKT RED and Arc System Works announced the collaboration at Evo 2024 on July 22, describing Lucy as the Guilty Gear franchise’s first-ever guest character. The announcement placed her in Season Pass 4 and set her release for 2025. At the time, CD PROJEKT RED said Guilty Gear -Strive- had surpassed 3 million players globally; that was a player count, not units sold. CD PROJEKT RED’s announcement.

Arc System Works’ Version 1.48 notes cover the August release on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Bandai Namco Europe announced the August 21 date on August 5, 2025, and identified Lucy as the last Season Pass 4 character. Its notice said the game had reached 3.5 million players at that point, also a player count rather than a sales figure. The Nintendo Switch Edition’s separate date came in Arc System Works’ December 17, 2025 announcement, which said the major update would release the following day.

Arc System Works describes Lucy as a mysterious netrunner based in Night City. Her tools draw on the monowire, agility and hacking; Bandai Namco Europe characterized her game plan as highly mobile, with long-range hacking debuffs that help her create offensive opportunities. Designed to feel familiar, with a mid-range strength
In a December 26, 2025 developer retrospective, producer Miyauchi said the team aimed to make Lucy approachable to newer players while giving her fundamental fighting-game tools: projectiles, advancing attacks and invincible options. The developers designed her to excel at mid-range rather than relying only on spectacle or a single crossover gimmick.
Adapting her abilities meant translating the monowire and Quickhacks into actions that work in -Strive-. Miyauchi described close collaboration with Satoru Homma, Japan Country Manager at CD PROJEKT RED and producer of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The team also rebuilt Lucy’s HUD with inspiration from Cyberpunk 2077, using hacking icons based on six Quickhack types and the Short Nerve Circuit effect. Music and other crossover additions
Version 1.48 on PlayStation, Xbox and PC
The regular platform update added two Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tracks, “Opening Credits” and “Run to the Edge,” alongside “Cyberwildlife Park,” “Chippin’ in,” “Never Fade Away” and “I Really Want to Stay at Your House.” Arc System Works says these songs can be selected even without purchasing Lucy. It lists “I Really Want to Stay at Your House” as limited-time content, but does not give a fixed end date: the end date and time would be announced separately and could move earlier.
Version 1.48 also added avatar parts for Lucy, David and Rebecca, Lucy gallery items, and a Lucy entry in GG WORLD. These are distinct from the Switch Edition’s listed additions; the platform packages should not be assumed to match exactly. Full details appear in the Version 1.48 notes.

Nintendo Switch Edition
The Switch Edition update listed special music, avatar parts inspired by Lucy, David and Rebecca, and digital figures. Arc System Works explicitly says “I Really Want to Stay at Your House” and two additional stages are not supported in the Switch Edition. Check the Switch Edition update announcement for the stated inclusions and exclusions.
