Find it on a corpse by a large tree in Abyssal Woods; picking it up unlocks the Hefty Frenzied Flame Pot recipe.
Where to find Mad Craftsman’s Cookbook [2]
Search Abyssal Woods for a corpse near a large tree. The item is described at this broad location by both the Elden Ring Wiki and Game8.
The guides give different route landmarks: Game8 suggests starting at Manse Hall Site of Grace and heading north along the right wall before climbing toward the tree, while the item reference places the corpse southwest of Abyssal Woods Site of Grace. Because those directions do not align cleanly, use an in-game map to confirm your approach rather than treating them as one verified route.
What the cookbook unlocks
Collecting the cookbook adds the ability to craft the Hefty Frenzied Flame Pot. A secondary guide lists the ingredients as Whiteflesh Mushroom ×3 and Winter-Lantern Fly ×2, but check the crafting menu in-game for the recipe and quantities before gathering materials.

What the item is
This is an in-game Key Item, not a real-world cookbook. Its description reads: “A record of crafting techniques left by a craftsman who served Midra, master of the manse, and Nanaya, its lady. His eyes were burned by the Flame of Frenzy.” The wording is reproduced by the community-maintained item reference.
