If Madden NFL 23’s Face of the Franchise keeps replaying the team-and-contract scene after your first season, EA said a title update fixed a second-contract signing bug that could block progress to season two. Update the game first. If the same career still loops, EA’s published note does not promise that an already affected save can be recovered or provide a save-specific fix.
What the contract-signing loop looks like
Players describe reaching the Face of the Franchise contract choice—often after season one—then getting stuck after choosing a team or offer. The game may freeze briefly or return to a mode or title screen, then replay the same selection scene. Reports describe similar symptoms on Xbox Series X, PC, and PlayStation, but forum posts do not establish how common the issue is or show that every platform is affected equally.

EA’s documented fix
In its November 17, 2022 Madden NFL 23 title update notes, EA said an earlier second title update, released in early October, fixed a second-contract signing issue. This records the intended fix in a game update; it is not a guarantee that a career save already caught in the loop will resume normally. The cited notes do not give a recovery procedure for affected saves or confirm current support status.
What to try if your career is still looping
1. Check for the game update
Make sure Madden NFL 23 is updated on your platform. EA says the signing issue was addressed in a title update, so checking the installed game version is the practical first step.

2. If the loop remains, document exactly where it happens
Keep the report specific: include your platform and console generation, the game version shown on your system, the career season and mode, the precise point where the loop begins, and whether the game freezes, crashes, or returns to a menu before replaying the scene. Note whether the problem persists after updating.
EA’s community manager asked players in a related forum thread to provide platform information so reports could be passed along. That request is evidence of report collection, not a promised workaround or recovery. Do not post personal account identifiers publicly.

3. Avoid treating unverified steps as a fix
EA’s cited update notes do not establish repeatedly choosing an offer, switching teams, deleting a save, clearing a cache, or reinstalling as a reliable way to recover a career caught in this loop. Those actions could cost time or risk saved data without a documented guarantee. Do not delete your career save unless you have independently confirmed what that action will remove and are willing to lose it.
