The headline’s “38 new cards” refers to a preview reveal, while a separate report counts 38 new cards in the Doom Prevails Commander deck. Those are two different claims, and the available sources do not establish that the revealed cards all belong to that deck. The set released on June 26, 2026; here’s what is confirmed about the reveal, the Commander product, and the other ways the set was sold.
What does “38 new cards” refer to?
Polygon’s headline was “Magic just revealed 38 new Marvel Super Heroes cards (including an epic Commander deck).” Its search-result summary describes a reveal that included new mechanics and a Fantastic Four Commander deck, but the article itself is not available in the sources cited here. That means the headline establishes a reveal of 38 cards, but does not let us reliably identify or list all 38 cards.
There is a separate, specifically attributed count: MTG Salvation reported on June 12, 2026, that the Doom Prevails preconstructed Commander deck contains 38 new cards. The matching number does not show that Polygon’s 38-card reveal was the deck’s 38 new cards, or that the two counts describe the same set of cards.
What is confirmed about Doom Prevails?
Doom Prevails is a Villains-focused preconstructed Commander deck. MTG Salvation names its commanders as Doctor Doom, King of Latveria and Loki, the Deceiver, and reports that the deck contains 38 new cards. These details come from secondary reporting; the official product page lists Commander Decks but does not confirm those deck-specific details.

The headline summary points to a Fantastic Four Commander deck, while Doom Prevails is described separately as a villains deck. The available information does not resolve the full relationship between the headline’s deck reference and all of the set’s Commander products, so it would be misleading to treat Doom Prevails as the deck featured in that headline.
When did Marvel Super Heroes release?
Wizards of the Coast gave June 26, 2026, as the tabletop release date for Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes. That date has passed. The official product page lists July 17, 2026, as the Gift Bundle’s release date, also in the past. These are release dates, not confirmation that a particular product is currently in stock.

Wizards also announced on June 4 that select products faced production and shipping delays in some regions; it expected Collector’s Edition Commander decks after the tabletop release. That notice describes delays at the time, not current regional availability.
Which products were offered, and who are they for?
Wizards’ official product page lists play-focused products, collector options, and scene boxes. The product descriptions help distinguish their intended use, but do not establish prices, present-day stock, or the value of any particular card.
