Wizards promised updated details and a release date in 2026, but the official status page checked on October 4, 2026, does not list Monster Hunter. A replacement date, sale window, and card list are therefore unconfirmed.
What happened to the Monster Hunter Secret Lair?
Wizards announced the collaboration, then withdrew the originally revealed version for a full rework. It said the card selection and the way the cards integrated Monster Hunter’s world and mechanics fell short of expectations. This is a postponement and redesign, not confirmation that the original version will go on sale.

Wizards also said Capcom supported another attempt: “Capcom is on board for us to take another swing at this Superdrop as well.” That establishes partner support for reworking the project; it does not confirm a final product, sale, or release date. Wizards’ November 26, 2025 announcement gives the stated rationale and commitment.

When is Secret Lair x Monster Hunter coming out?
There is no confirmed replacement release date or active sale window in the official sources checked. Wizards said it would share new details and an updated release date in 2026, but that promise is not itself a launch date. The Secret Lair Production and Shipping Status page checked October 4, 2026, contains no Monster Hunter listing. Its omission is limited evidence: it does not prove that no announcement exists elsewhere.
#1 Best Overall
- Includes a mix of AT LEAST 25 Rares/Uncommons which is half of the cards.
- Absolutely NO... Basic lands, Foreign, or silver/gold bordered cards.
- Some may contain Foils or Mythics but not all.
- Sets can range from Beta to the current Magic the Gathering set.
- Mint/Excellent condition only.
Secret Lair products pass through distinct stages, so an announcement should not be mistaken for an order opportunity. Wizards describes the process as involving preorder or on-sale, sale close, production, debiting or release, and shipping. Check the official announcement and status pages for an active sale and current fulfillment information rather than assuming the drop is available because it was announced. Wizards’ preorder and process guide explains those stages.
What cards will be in the reworked drop?
No revised card list is confirmed in the official sources checked. The earlier reveal was the version Wizards said it would rework, so its contents should not be treated as the final lineup. Pricing, sale terms, and exact physical product details for a replacement have not been confirmed either.

Was the Monster Hunter Secret Lair cancelled?
Wizards described the project as postponed and being reworked, and said Capcom was on board for another attempt. That supports saying the original version was pulled back, not that the collaboration was definitively cancelled. It also does not guarantee that a replacement will reach sale: the final contents and timing remain unconfirmed.
