Distended Grip disrupts enemy positioning, Flexible Elongation can protect a teammate or help you engage, and Reflexive Rubber absorbs and returns damage. Brainiac Bounce slows nearby enemies and can extend when its leaps connect. The figures below reflect the official character page and balance notes available on October 8, 2026; check the in-game ability panel for later changes.
How Mister Fantastic’s kit works
Mister Fantastic is a Duelist whose abilities generate Elasticity. At 100 Elasticity, he enters Inflation for six seconds. The state adds 350 maximum health and a one-time 350 heal, increases movement speed by 20%, and changes his attack profile. The bonus health is removed when Inflation ends.
That makes ability use part of his resource loop, not just a way to deal damage. Build Elasticity while keeping a useful route toward a target or teammate; Inflation is short, so entering it without a follow-up in mind can waste its pressure window.

How to use each ability
Stretch Punch: build pressure and Elasticity
Use Stretch Punch to keep damage moving while generating Elasticity. Its ability to hit multiple targets makes it useful when opponents are grouped, but it does not replace a plan for approaching or controlling a priority target.
Distended Grip: pull a target or break spacing
A single-target pull can interrupt an enemy’s position and leave them briefly immobilized after a successful pull. The second-target interaction is a displacement play: it can pull another enemy into the first rather than simply adding damage. Look for a nearby teammate who can follow up, and do not assume the pull alone guarantees an elimination.

Flexible Elongation: choose between engagement and protection
Target an enemy when the dash and damage help you enter a fight. Target an ally when they need the bonus health; the ability grants it to both the ally and Mister Fantastic. Because it has two charges, spending both to approach can leave no immediate charge for a teammate in danger. The May 2026 update removed its movement-speed reduction and shortened its charge time from eight to six seconds.
Reflexive Rubber: time the shield for incoming fire
Activate Reflexive Rubber when concentrated damage is likely to land during its short window, then aim the returned projectile where it can matter. The 35% self-slow is the trade-off: while the shield can absorb and reflect damage, it makes repositioning harder until it ends.

When to use Brainiac Bounce
Brainiac Bounce combines area damage with a stacking slow. It begins with three leaps and can reach six, but the extra leaps require hits after the minimum sequence. Each leap adds slow, up to 60%, so connecting matters more than simply activating it near enemies. If opponents move out of range or a leap misses, do not count on reaching the maximum number.
The ultimate also grants the bonus health associated with entering Inflation. That can support an aggressive contest or help stabilize a pressured moment, but the damage and slow still depend on where the slams connect.

Practical fight decisions
- Plan the Inflation window. Build Elasticity with a useful target or route in mind so the six-second state is spent creating pressure rather than crossing empty space.
- Use Grip to disturb formation. Choose a single pull to isolate or interrupt positioning; use the dual-target interaction when pulling enemies together benefits your team’s follow-up.
- Keep an ally option in reserve. Flexible Elongation can help an ally survive, so consider whether a teammate needs its protection before spending every charge to engage.
- Wait for the defensive moment. Reflexive Rubber is most useful when damage is likely during its active window; using it too early can spend the shield before the enemy commits.
- Make Brainiac Bounce hits count. The leap extension and stronger slow depend on connecting, so favor a moment when enemies are in reach rather than treating six leaps as guaranteed.
Team-Up and current patch context
The official character page lists Fantastic Amplifier with Rocket Raccoon, while the September 2026 balance notes document a toggleable Clobberin’ Research Dept. stance for the Thing Team-Up. With that Thing Team-Up, Brawling Punch has a 0.75-second full charge time, 65 uncharged damage, and no launch effect on a fully charged punch. Team-Up access and effects are patch-sensitive, so check the current in-game roster rather than assuming every listed pairing is available in every version.
