The rank shown while you play them is only a prediction; your actual placement is assigned after the set is complete. For Season 10, which began September 11, 2026, the official patch notes name Gorr the God Butcher – Gods’ Graveyard as the Gold-tier costume reward. The exact current point gains, losses, and reward eligibility conditions should be checked in-game: the official Season 10 notes do not confirm all of those details.
How Marvel Rivals ranked placements work
The official Season 5 patch notes describe the first 10 ranked matches of a season as placement matches. During those games, the displayed predicted rank is a matchmaking estimate, not your final rank. The game assigns the actual rank after you finish all 10 matches.
Those same Season 5 notes say players who do not complete placements do not receive that season’s ranked rewards. Because this is a Season 5 rule, rather than a condition reaffirmed in the Season 10 notes, check the current in-game reward preview for the active season’s eligibility terms.
How you rank up after placements
After placements, ranked progression uses Competitive points, but the official Season 10 material reviewed does not publish a complete formula for ordinary match wins and losses. It would therefore be misleading to promise a fixed point gain for a win or a fixed deduction for a loss. Check the point change shown in-game for the current season.

Placement points: a past-season rule, not a confirmed Season 10 formula
The Season 7 patch notes documented an adjustment of -100 to +100 Competitive points after the 10 placement matches, based on personal results and tier. That is a dated Season 7 rule; the Season 10 notes do not confirm that this adjustment still applies.
Point restoration for confirmed malicious teammate behavior
In a March 9, 2026 announcement, the publisher said, “If your match loss and point deduction were caused by a teammate’s confirmed malicious behavior, the system will automatically restore lost points.” Players receive an in-game mail notification when compensation is issued. What are the ranks in Marvel Rivals?
A secondary reference lists the ladder as Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Grandmaster, Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All. The official Season 10 source reviewed does not enumerate the current ladder, so treat that list as a reference rather than a verified Season 10 lineup. Confirm rank names in the live game.

Earlier official notes give useful context but should not be mistaken for current eligibility terms. Season 5 documented one Gold costume per half-season and required players to complete 10 ranked matches in that half and finish at Gold or above at the half-season end. Those notes also tied season-end rewards to completed placements and the required final rank. The Season 10 notes do not confirm that every one of those conditions still applies, so use the active in-game reward preview to verify what you need to do.

Standard ranked cosmetics and Marvel Rivals Championship (MRC) tournament rewards are separate paths. Season 10 notes describe Units and exclusive loot for factions participating in Open Qualifiers and completing at least six matches. Those are faction tournament rewards, not the Gold-tier ranked costume.
