Season 2’s new maps and their modes
NetEase announced Season 2: Hellfire Gala on April 4, 2025, with the season beginning April 11 and planned to run for three months in two halves. The publisher said two new maps would arrive during the season. NetEase’s Season 2 announcement described Krakoa as a Hellfire Gala setting amid botanical landscapes and fireworks.

The Season 2.0 patch notes identify Krakoa as a Domination map and add it to Competitive. The Season 2.5 update notes identify Arakko as a Convoy map and give its May 30, 2025 UTC release date.
What changed in Competitive—and what did not
At the Season 2.0 launch, Krakoa entered the Competitive map pool, while Yggsgard: Royal Palace and Tokyo 2099: Shin-Shibuya left ranked play. The Season 2.0 notes also say Quick Match and Custom Game continued to feature all maps without rotation. That means the ranked rotation was not a complete list of maps available in those other queues.

The official Season 2 sources establish these changes, but do not enumerate every legacy map available in Quick Match and Custom Game through the season’s end. So the documented Season 2 additions and ranked changes can be identified, but a complete historical catalogue of every map in every queue cannot be established from these sources alone.

How to read the Season 2 map list
- For new maps: Krakoa is Domination; Arakko is Convoy.
- For ranked rotation at launch: Krakoa joined Competitive, while Royal Palace and Shin-Shibuya left.
- For Quick Match and Custom Game: the Season 2.0 notes say all maps remained available without rotation, but do not give a full historical roster.
- For event modes: Giant-Size Brain Blast had two limited windows and should not be mistaken for a map’s mode.
