When did Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 come out?
Season 3.5 went live on August 8, 2025, at 09:00 UTC, according to the official Marvel Rivals patch announcement. The Version 20250808 notes were published on August 2, 2025. The announcement reviewed does not state how long maintenance for Season 3.5 lasted.
What did the Season 3.5 update add?
Blade and new lore
Blade joined the roster as a playable hero. The update also added three lore entries: “Cut to The Chase” for Blade, “The Celestial Iron Man” for Iron Man, and “The Deepest Bond” for Rocket Raccoon. These additions are listed in the official Season 3.5 notes.
Queen’s Codex event
The limited-time Queen’s Codex event offered in-game rewards, including The Thing – Symbiote Thing costume. Its Premium Codex provided additional rewards and, once unlocked, permanent access to the event until its rewards were claimed. The notes describe these as digital game rewards and access.

What changed in competitive play?
Rank-based party-size limits
Season 3.5 set different maximum team sizes for ranked matchmaking by rank group:
Rank #2
- Bronze, Silver, and Gold: any team size except five.
- Platinum, Diamond, and Grandmaster: teams of up to three.
- Celestial, Eternity, and One Above All: teams of up to two.
Disconnects, surrender votes, and penalties
The notes changed how matches and players were handled after disconnects. The rules depend on when a player disconnects, whether they reconnect, how long they remain absent, and whether the match qualifies for compensation. They also specify circumstances in which a first-round disconnect without reconnection within 90 seconds can lead to a surrender vote, and cases where players who do not reconnect can receive competitive bans. Because the consequences are conditional, consult the official patch notes for the exact timing and eligibility rules rather than treating every disconnect the same way.
Tournament latency options
The update described latency equalization for the Season 3 Championship and added a Balance Latency option for custom tournament rooms.
