If Marvel Rivals won’t launch on PC, start by checking the game’s system requirements, then choose a fix that matches what you see: a DirectX 12 message, an Intel “Out of video memory” crash, a recurring crash, or stuttering after launch. There is no single confirmed fix for every startup problem, and the steps below apply to PC rather than console versions.
First, identify what “Marvel Rivals not launching” means
Note the last thing that happens before the problem: nothing opens, a DirectX error appears, the game crashes during startup, it reaches the menu but later crashes, or it launches with stuttering. These symptoms point to different checks; a graphics setting intended to improve frame rate, for example, is not the first response to a DirectX compatibility error.
Also confirm that you are using the current official build and launcher. At release, the official FAQ warned that beta builds were incompatible with the official release and advised removing the beta and its older launcher before installing the release version. Check that your PC meets the published requirements
Compare your hardware and Windows version with the PC requirements on the Marvel Rivals Steam listing and the official FAQ. Store requirements can change, so verify the current listing if your system is close to the minimum.

The Steam listing recommends installing the game on an SSD for a better experience. Treat that as a storage and experience consideration, not as a universal fix for a crash, driver problem, or launcher failure. The listing does not specify an SSD type or model.
Try the fix that matches your error
If Windows says DirectX 12 is not supported
The game requires DirectX 12. The official FAQ recommends Windows 10 64-bit version 1909 or later, an up-to-date graphics driver, and a graphics card that meets the published minimum. Check each of those points before changing other settings. Do not install unofficial DirectX files or try to bypass the compatibility check; those are not remedies supported by the game’s guidance.

If a 13th- or 14th-generation Intel CPU crashes with “Out of video memory”
For this specific startup symptom, the official FAQ recommends updating the system BIOS to the latest version using instructions from Intel or the motherboard manufacturer. BIOS procedures vary by computer and motherboard. Follow the instructions for your exact system rather than applying an arbitrary BIOS setting or voltage adjustment.
If the instability continues, the FAQ directs users to their system manufacturer or OEM; owners of boxed processors can contact Intel support, while users with bulk processors should contact the point of purchase.

If the game crashes repeatedly
The official FAQ’s advice is: “If you experience crashes or graphical errors in the game, please try updating your drivers or repairing the game client.” Use your graphics-card manufacturer’s current driver and your platform’s built-in repair or integrity-check option. The FAQ also points to an integrity-check-and-repair guide.
If the crashes continue after repair and a driver update, the FAQ suggests enabling GPU Debug Mode and continuing to play to see whether the issue recurs. The available guidance does not specify a universal setting path for GPU Debug Mode, so use the relevant GPU software’s instructions.

Antivirus software can sometimes misidentify a game process, according to the FAQ. Prefer adding the game executable and its storage path to the antivirus allowlist when appropriate. If you temporarily disable protection to test whether it is interfering, turn it back on immediately after the test.
If the game will not download or install
Check that your connection is stable, that the PC has enough free storage, and that it meets the device requirements. Restart the launcher and retry. These are basic installation checks, not a guarantee that any one will resolve the problem.

Improve performance after the game launches
If Marvel Rivals opens but stutters or runs slowly, the official FAQ recommends a clean installation of the latest graphics driver, setting the game to high performance in Windows Graphics settings, and lowering graphics options such as texture quality when performance remains poor.
- Open Settings → System → Display → Graphics in Windows.
- Add the Marvel Rivals executable if it is not already listed.
- Select the game, choose Options, and select the high-performance GPU option.
- Save the choice, then try the game again. Windows and GPU software labels can vary by version.
- If performance is still poor, lower graphics settings such as texture quality and check whether the change helps.
When to contact official support
If the game still fails after the relevant checks, contact Marvel Rivals support through the Support bot in the game’s Discord server or the customer-service feedback route. Steam also provides a technical-issue support page for Marvel Rivals.
Include the platform, Windows version, CPU and GPU, graphics-driver version, exact error text, whether the game has ever launched successfully, and which repair steps you tried. The available support information does not promise a response time or a particular resolution.
