What does the mod change?
- Visuals: The mod overhauls the game’s presentation, aiming for a style closer to earlier Marvel vs. Capcom entries.
- Modes: The project lists new game modes, including Cross Frenzy Mode.
- Music and balance: Its description also lists music additions and gameplay balance changes.
GameSpot’s historical coverage says modder WistfulHopes started the project before Maximilian “Maximilian Dood” Christiansen assembled a team to work on art and music and pursue that visual direction. Nexus Mods describes nearly 40 fans working over eight months. Those are reported development details, not an independently audited current team roster.

When did it launch?
The original release was planned for December 20, 2024, according to LOS40’s December 18, 2024 coverage. That planned date is historical, not an upcoming launch. The project site currently lists version 1.1b; consult it for the latest files and installation directions.

- A copy of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite on Steam. The project FAQ says it is compatible only with the Steam version.
- The MVCI Beyond release archive, available through download links listed on the project site, including MediaFire and Nexus Mods.
- Access to the game’s local files through Steam’s Manage → Browse local files option.
DLC costumes are optional. The project says owning them adds content in MVCIB, but they are not required to use the mod. The project does not establish compatibility with non-Steam editions or other platforms.
