When does McDonald’s Monopoly 2026 start and end?
The 2026 promotion is for eligible participants in the 50 states and Washington, D.C.; these dates and rules do not apply to other countries. Pre-registration opened September 22, 2026, and gameplay began October 6. The official U.S. rules set several different deadlines:

The daily limits are measured in Eastern Time, even though most other stated deadlines use the participant’s local time. The rules allow up to eight game-code entries and eight Chance Card plays per day.
Who can play, and what do you need?
The promotion is sponsored by McDonald’s USA, LLC and is open to eligible U.S. residents who are at least 18 on the day they participate. Some employees and related people are excluded, and the promotion is void where prohibited. The full eligibility terms are in the official rules.

How do you play McDonald’s Monopoly 2026?
- Register: In the McDonald’s app, opt in to MyMcDonald’s Rewards and register for the game before playing. Pre-registration was available beginning September 22.
- Get a game piece: Find one on eligible, specially marked packaging at a participating restaurant while supplies last, or use the free mail-request route described below.
- Reveal and enter the code: Peel the piece and scan or enter its unique code in the app. Keep the physical piece; the rules say a potential winner may be asked to submit pieces for verification.
- Follow the outcome in the app: The result may be a food award, Rewards points, a property for a Collect to Win set, or a Chance Card play.
If you registered before ordering, an eligible menu item ordered through Mobile Order & Pay or with a Rewards code can also earn a bonus Chance Card play. This purchase-based feature does not improve the odds of winning a prize. See the promotion FAQ for an overview and the rules for full terms.
Can you play without buying anything?
Yes. The official rules state: “No purchase is necessary to play or win a prize. A purchase will not improve chances of winning.” A mail request is available beginning September 22, 2026; it must be received by November 2. Each compliant request receives one game piece while supplies last, and entering its code also earns one Chance Card play if entered before that game closes.

The request has specific envelope and postage requirements, including a self-addressed return envelope with sufficient non-metered postage; Vermont residents may omit return postage. Before mailing, follow the complete instructions in Rule 4.A.(2) of the official rules, including the listed mailing address. A qualifying purchase does not increase your chance of winning.

Which menu items have game pieces?
Specially marked packaging may be available with listed items at participating locations, while supplies last. The official list includes Big Macs, Quarter Pounders with Cheese, McMuffin sandwiches, qualifying biscuit sandwiches, 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, four-piece McCrispy Strips, large fries, hash browns, large soft drinks, and specified large hot or cold McCafé drinks.

What can you win?
The prize pool ranges from food and Rewards points to cash, travel, vehicles, gift cards, experiences, and other awards. McDonald’s’ September 22, 2026 announcement highlighted a $1 million cash prize, a 2027 Jeep Cherokee, McDonald’s for a Year represented by a $1,040 gift card, Carnival Cruise vacation packages, a Kennedy Space Center experience, and Polaris vehicles. Those are examples, not a guarantee that every prize remains available; consult the prize page and rules for quantities, restrictions, and claim conditions.

Game-piece outcomes
- Food prize: After entering the code, select from the options shown. The claimed award is added to the app account for redemption through the app.
- MyMcDonald’s Rewards points: Points are deposited in the Rewards account after the code is claimed.
- Collect to Win property: Collect every property in a rule-defined combination to become a potential winner, subject to verification and prize-claim requirements. The app tracks collected properties.
- Chance Card play: Use the play in the app before the November 8 deadline. The animation does not determine the result; the rules say the outcome is time-seeded according to when the play is initiated.
What are the odds of winning?
At the outset, McDonald’s’ 2026 official rules estimate overall instant-win odds of 1 in 5, based on planned game-piece distribution. These are not fixed odds throughout the promotion: prize counts decline as awards are claimed, so the odds change. The rules also say Chance Card outcomes are time-seeded, with odds depending on when a play begins.
