For a co-op join error, first make sure everyone is on the same game version. These are targeted fixes, not universal cures: the cause depends on when the stutter happens or where the multiplayer connection fails.
Fix the Steam-stat stutter by launching through Steam
Render Cube’s October 16, 2025, public-branch notes for patch 2.4.1.3 say the update fixed stuttering while Steam stats were updating, especially when players launched the game through its executable instead of Steam. If your stutter matches that pattern:
- Update Medieval Dynasty through Steam.
- Open Steam and launch the game from your Library rather than double-clicking the game’s executable.
- Check whether the stutter still occurs during Steam-stat updates.
This fix addresses the specific behavior described in the 2.4.1.3 patch notes. It does not establish a fix for stuttering that occurs at other times.
Identify which kind of stutter you are seeing
Official patches have addressed distinct problems, so FPS drops, Steam-stat stutter, and general gameplay hitching should not be treated as one known bug.

The patch details are in the official 2.4.1.3 notes, 2.1.1.1 notes, and 2.7.0.4 announcement. The notes document those fixes, not a diagnosis of an individual PC.
Resolve co-op join and connection errors
Make sure every player has the same game version
Update the game on every player’s system and compare the version numbers before trying to join again. The developer’s co-op guidance says players need to be on the same version. A mismatch is a practical first check, but it is not proof that every join error is version-related.

Use a test branch only when the instructions match your issue
In a December 2025 notice about a particular co-op issue, the developer told affected Steam players to use the public_testing branch and advised against playing with people on the public branch. That was a workaround for that event and time; it does not show that current connection errors require the test branch. If an applicable developer notice directs you to a branch, coordinate so everyone in the co-op group uses the version it specifies.
Distinguish session creation from joining
Different fixes have covered different stages of multiplayer. Patch 2.0.0.2, dated December 14, 2023, added a network error message before online session creation and fixed a client disconnect-on-join issue. Patch 2.4.1.2, dated September 30, 2025, included a co-op join loading fix and network optimizations for several game systems. Those historical fixes do not establish the cause of a current error. Check whether your PC meets the published requirements
Steam lists these requirements for the PC version. Meeting them is a baseline check, not evidence that a hardware upgrade will fix a particular stutter or connection error.

What to record if the problem continues
The official notes describe several past fixes, but they cannot identify an unspecified current error. Gather these details before seeking help:
- The exact error text, if one appears.
- Where you own or launch the game, its version number, and whether it is on the public or a test branch.
- For co-op, whether you are the host or client, and whether the failure occurs when creating a session, joining, or after joining.
- For stutter, when it occurs—for example, during Steam-stat updates or throughout gameplay—and whether the game was launched through Steam.
- Your PC specifications, including operating system, RAM, graphics card and available storage.
The latest public-branch announcement located here is patch 2.7.0.4, dated October 2, 2026. It lists fixes for recent-release issues but no general stuttering or multiplayer-connection fix. Patch 2.7.0.2, dated September 22, 2026, lists network optimizations for the visual representation of resources in storage and fixes random crashes during the village economy update; neither note describes a broad remedy for the symptoms covered here. Branch guidance and patch status can change, so check Render Cube’s Steam announcements for the latest applicable instructions.
