Meta has acknowledged specific Quest App Sharing and Shared Mode defects, but the available reports do not establish a current platform-wide App Sharing outage. One Quest 3 Shared Mode loading-screen issue was marked fixed in a later update; a separate secondary-account data issue was archived. The right next step depends on whether you cannot set up sharing, launch a shared app, or load data inside one.
What Meta has acknowledged
Quest 3 apps stuck on the loading screen in Shared Mode
Meta’s developer investigation describes a defect on Quest 3 running Horizon OS v2.6: some apps could remain on the system loading screen when cold-launched in Shared Mode. Meta attributed it to a race in the runtime’s foreground-app handshake and said a fix shipped in a recent update. The investigation was marked completed, but Meta did not identify the update version. App data failing on a secondary account
A separate developer report describes an app failing to retrieve room data on a secondary profile when App Sharing was enabled. The behavior was reproducible under the configuration in that report, but the investigation was archived on March 18, 2026. Meta’s response asked people who still experience it to file a new report with current details. That archived report is not confirmation that the feature is currently down across Quest. Which App Sharing problem are you seeing?
“App Sharing is broken” can refer to different failures. Identifying the point where things stop working makes it easier to report the problem accurately:

- Profile or sharing setup: You cannot add a secondary profile or enable App Sharing.
- App launch: A shared app opens but stays on the system loading screen, or fails to start.
- App-specific data: The app launches on a secondary profile but cannot retrieve room data or other content.
A Quest 3 owner reported profile-addition and sharing-toggle errors on software identified as v2.6, then later marked the problem solved after both features began working. The person did not know what changed, so this is one user’s experience, not a confirmed general workaround or evidence of a service fix. See the community report.
What to try if a shared app is stuck launching
For the specific Shared Mode loading-screen defect, Meta said a fix shipped in a later update. Check your headset for available software updates and install the current update offered to it. The investigation does not name the release that included the fix, so it cannot establish which version contains it. If the same behavior continues, report it to Meta with the headset model, software version, app name, and whether the failure occurs on a cold launch in Shared Mode.

What to do if profile setup or app data still fails
The documented setup report does not identify a verified fix, and the archived room-data investigation asks users still affected to submit a fresh report. If either symptom persists, describe the exact step that fails and include your headset model, software version, account/profile involved, app, and any error message. This helps distinguish a profile or toggle failure from an app launch or app-data problem.
The available evidence does not provide a complete current consumer troubleshooting sequence. It also does not verify a current broad service incident, so a single user report or an older investigation should not be treated as proof that App Sharing is down for everyone.

Is App Sharing currently down for everyone?
No verified broad incident statement covering App Sharing across Quest devices is established by these reports. The documented cases concern particular software behavior, account profiles, or app data; they do not show that all Quest users are affected. If your issue differs from the two developer reports, a fresh report to Meta is more useful than assuming it has the same cause.
