No: Metro Redux is not the same as Metro 2033 Redux. Metro Redux is the two-game collection; Metro 2033 Redux is only the first game. The collection pairs it with Metro: Last Light Redux, the sequel, whose edition includes its previously released DLC.

Store names can be easy to confuse: the Xbox page titled “Buy Metro: Last Light Redux” also identifies a Metro Redux Bundle with both games. Check the product’s included titles rather than relying on a similar name. Xbox listing

Which game comes first?
4A Games’ 2014 PlayStation Blog launch post identifies Metro 2033 as the prequel to Metro: Last Light. For the story sequence, play Metro 2033 Redux first, then Metro: Last Light Redux. The collection puts those two campaigns together; buying Metro 2033 Redux alone does not include the sequel.
What changed in Metro 2033 Redux?
PLAION says the original Metro 2033 was rebuilt in the 4A Engine, with gameplay improvements carried over from Last Light. It specifically names AI, controls, animation and weapon handling among the updated areas. Modes in both Redux games
Both games list Survival and Spartan play styles, as well as Ranger Mode. Survival is framed as slower and more survival-horror-oriented; Spartan emphasizes action and combat. Ranger Mode removes the HUD, makes combat deadlier and limits resources. Campaign balance and moment-to-moment experience still differ between the first game and its sequel. How to check a listing before buying
- Confirm the number of games. Look for Metro Redux or an explicit bundle listing that names both Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux.
- Confirm DLC wording. The Last Light Redux edition includes its previously released DLC. A standalone Metro 2033 Redux listing is the first game only.
- Check platform and format. Nintendo’s cited listing is for a UK Switch download. 4A Games documented a PS4 retail double pack in its August 2014 launch post; that historical announcement does not establish current physical stock.
- Check your region’s storefront. Availability and listing terms may vary by platform and account region. Current prices and physical availability are not established here.
How to read the advertised playtime
PLAION attributes 10 hours of bonus single-player content to Last Light’s previously released DLC. Nintendo’s UK Metro Redux page describes a further 10 hours of bonus content and advertises 50+ hours of gameplay. Those are publisher/storefront claims, not independently measured completion-time estimates; the two 10-hour descriptions may refer to overlapping content, so they should not be added together.
