Reports of early physical copies of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond reaching some players circulated in the days before its December 4, 2025 release, prompting spoiler warnings. The reports did not establish how many copies arrived early or how widely story details spread. The launch has since passed, so this is a historical warning—not a current release alert.
What was reported before launch?
On November 30, 2025, Notebookcheck reported early copies and concerns about leaks ahead of release. A December Reddit post offered an individual account of receiving a copy early, while Shinesparkers’ year-end retrospective later recalled that some retailers broke the street date and that a spoiler warning was issued. Taken together, these accounts support that early-copy reports and spoiler concerns circulated before launch; they do not provide an audited count or a complete account of which retailers were involved.
The reporting does not establish how much material was exposed or how many players encountered spoilers. It would be inaccurate to say that the game leaked everywhere or to claim a confirmed scale of exposure.
When was the release date, and which versions were listed?
Target’s physical listings gave December 4, 2025 as the street date for both platform editions. Those are retailer listings, not an official Nintendo announcement.

The platform edition identifies the console version; the reports do not suggest that choosing one edition changed the spoiler risk.

Before release, players seeking to avoid story details had reason to be cautious around posts about early physical copies. The available coverage confirms that warnings and leak concerns circulated, but does not document the contents or reach of any leaked material in a way that supports a stronger claim. Since the December 2025 release date has passed, the reports are best understood as launch-period context.
