Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is a single-player adventure released December 4, 2025, for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Expect roughly 8–12 hours for the main story, based on one reviewer estimate; collecting every item and scan can take longer. Nintendo lists one player on a single system, and a review reports subtitle-background, control-remapping, and sensitivity options.
How long is Metroid Prime 4: Beyond?
There is no official Nintendo completion-time figure in the product and support materials cited here. Published playthroughs offer useful estimates, but they are not guarantees: exploration, combat, puzzles, and what you count as complete all affect the total.
| Goal | Published estimate | What it represents |
|---|---|---|
| Main story | 8–12 hours | GamesRadar+’s estimate based on reviewer Oscar Taylor-Kent’s 2025 playthrough. GamesRadar+’s completion-time estimate. |
| 100% completion | 10–18 hours | GamesRadar+’s estimate; the meaning of 100% can vary with collection goals. GamesRadar+’s completion-time estimate. |
| Normal run collecting every item and scan | A little over 15 hours | TechRadar reviewer Rhys Wood’s reported 2025 playthrough. This is one reviewer’s run, not a population average. TechRadar’s review. |
TechRadar describes a less completion-focused playthrough as around 15 hours or less. The different figures are compatible: one reviewer’s all-items-and-scans run can exceed a broad estimate for a typical story-focused run.
Does Metroid Prime 4: Beyond have multiplayer or co-op?
No multiplayer or co-op mode is listed. Nintendo specifies “Single system (1)” for the Switch edition, meaning one player on one system. The Nintendo Switch Online listing does not establish a multiplayer mode; Nintendo lists the service in connection with features such as Save Data Cloud. See Nintendo’s Switch product listing.

- Controls: button remapping across control settings.
- Sensitivity: adjustable cursor, camera, and stick sensitivity.
Wood writes: “You can enable a background for subtitles for increased legibility, and fully remap button profiles in all control settings.” Read TechRadar’s review.
