Forbidden Frost is a Mage active ability in Mewgenics that can be cast once per battle. It hits enemies and objects, heals allies, and applies Freeze 2 across the battlefield—with the caster and one chosen unit spared. Its immediate impact comes with a warning: casting it adds a random disorder, so it is a powerful emergency option rather than a routine attack.
What Forbidden Frost does
The ability affects battlefield tiles except the caster’s tile and one chosen tile. It deals damage to enemies and objects, heals allies, applies Ice to tiles, and freezes units in its area. The caster and the unit on the chosen tile are spared from the area effects. The ability can be used once per battle.

The values above are the wiki’s current listing; its version history records the changes in v1.1.21039. A February 12, 2026 guide gives the older base values of 5 damage and 5 HP healing, which predate that balance change. Do not use those figures as the current base effect.

How Freeze 2 affects a fight
The wiki defines Freeze as preventing a unit from taking damage until it unfreezes at the start of its turn. That can temporarily deny enemies their immediate contribution while creating a window for the spared ally to act. Because the spell also freezes allies in its area, it can interrupt your own team’s planned actions too.
Choose the spared unit with the next few turns in mind: favor an ally whose action during the freeze window could convert the temporary control into a decisive attack, reposition, or recovery. If a particular ally needs to act immediately, sparing that unit may matter more than maximizing the area effect.

When casting Forbidden Frost makes sense
Think of it as a once-per-battle field-control and stabilization tool. Its value rises when several enemies threaten the team at once, allies need healing, or stopping damage for a turn is more valuable than saving the cast for later. The upgraded version’s 15 damage and full healing of affected allies can make that swing larger.
- Cast when: a broad freeze can disrupt a dangerous enemy group and the healing or damage can change the fight’s trajectory.
- Plan the spared unit: select the ally best positioned to act while other units are frozen.
- Wait when: the current field is manageable, freezing your own allies would derail a necessary action, or the persistent disorder cost outweighs the immediate benefit.
Every cast uses the battle’s sole opportunity to deploy the ability, so weigh immediate control, damage, and healing against both that opportunity cost and the disorder risk.

What is the permanent consequence?
The ability’s warning reads: “There will be permanent consequences for casting this spell…” The wiki says casting adds a random disorder from a forbidden-consequences pool. It reports a 90% chance of a disorder from the forbidden pool and a 10% chance from the crippling pool, with pool selection affected by Luck. Those odds and Luck’s precise influence are wiki-reported, not independently confirmed here. The warning establishes a persistent consequence, but it does not mean every roll is the same disorder or a particular guaranteed debuff.
That trade-off is central to the decision: Forbidden Frost can rescue a dangerous battle, but the disorder lasts beyond the immediate turn. Consider the value of winning or stabilizing this fight against accepting an uncertain lasting change to the affected character.
