Microsoft will give buyers of select Windows 11 PCs in the United States a digital collection of 25 Xbox games at no extra cost. The promotion starts November 2, 2026, runs through December 31 while supplies last, and must be redeemed by February 12, 2027. Microsoft says the collection is worth more than $500, but it has publicly named only five games so far.
What the Windows 11 PC offer includes
The offer is tied to buying an eligible Windows 11 PC from a participating U.S. retailer. It is not a free-game promotion for every Windows 11 user, and Microsoft has not yet published the complete qualifying-model list.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Microsoft announced the promotion in its Windows Experience Blog on October 15, 2026, describing it as a collection of 25 fan-favorite games celebrating 25 years of Xbox. The company’s stated value is more than $500. The games are digital entitlements attached to the purchaser’s Microsoft account after redemption.

Offer dates and deadline
| Event | Date or condition |
|---|---|
| Eligible purchase window | November 2 through December 31, 2026 |
| Availability | Participating U.S. retailers, while supplies last |
| Activation and redemption deadline | The PC must be activated and the bundle claimed to the buyer’s Microsoft account by February 12, 2027 |
| Xbox anniversary | November 15, 2026 |
A purchase made after December 31 does not qualify under the announced window, even if the same model was eligible earlier. Because supplies are limited, an eligible model may stop receiving codes or redemption instructions before the final calendar date.
How to claim the 25 games
- Buy a qualifying PC. Purchase an eligible Windows 11 device from a participating retailer in the United States during the announced window. Do not rely on a retailer’s general “gaming PC” label; verify the exact model against Microsoft’s terms once they are published.
- Activate Windows and the device. Set up the computer and complete activation. Microsoft requires the PC to be activated before the bundle can be claimed.
- Open the Microsoft Store app. On the eligible computer, sign in with the Microsoft account that should own the games and look for the anniversary-bundle claim flow in the Store app.
- Redeem by February 12, 2027. Follow the on-screen instructions to attach the digital bundle to that account. Keep the purchase receipt and any included code or eligibility message until the games appear in the account.
- Install compatible titles. Once claimed, the PC versions can be played on any compatible Windows PC while signed in to the owning Microsoft account, not only on the original computer.
Microsoft has not yet specified whether every retailer will deliver the claim prompt in the same way. If the Store app does not show the offer, confirm that Windows is activated, the correct account is signed in, the device was purchased in the United States during the qualifying period and the retailer is participating before contacting Microsoft support or the seller.

Will every eligible PC run all 25 games?
No. Microsoft explicitly cautions that some eligible devices cannot play all 25 games. Eligibility for the promotion and hardware capable of running every included title are separate questions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThe final terms should be checked for each model’s processor, graphics hardware, memory, storage and operating-system requirements. Until that information is published, no specific laptop or desktop can be confirmed as qualifying, and no buyer should assume that a thin or entry-level Windows 11 computer will run the entire collection.

What to compare before buying
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Exact retailer and model eligibility | The promotion applies only to selected PCs sold through participating U.S. retailers. |
| CPU, GPU and RAM | These determine whether individual games launch and what performance settings are practical. |
| Storage capacity | Twenty-five digital games can require substantial space; the final requirements are not yet published. |
| Screen, battery and portability | A gaming laptop may trade display quality or battery life against graphics performance and weight. |
| Price and warranty | The bundle’s advertised value does not make an otherwise unsuitable PC a good purchase. |
| Xbox Play Anywhere support | Select games may also be playable on Xbox Series X|S, but not every title has that support. |
Do not reuse unrelated hardware requirements
Xbox’s July 22, 2026 PC preview for backward-compatible classic titles listed a minimum of Windows 11, 8 GB of RAM, 4 GB of video memory and a GTX 950-, Radeon RX 550- or Intel Arc A310-class graphics processor. Those specifications belong to that separate preview feature; Microsoft has not said they are the requirements for the 25-game anniversary bundle.
Where the games can be played
After redemption, the PC licenses are linked to the buyer’s Microsoft account. They can be used on compatible Windows PCs signed in to that account. Microsoft also says select titles support Xbox Play Anywhere and can therefore be played on Xbox Series X|S, while some bundled games cannot be played on Xbox consoles. The exact Play Anywhere titles will need to be confirmed in the November 2 terms.

How the promotion fits Xbox’s 25th anniversary
Xbox’s 25th anniversary falls on November 15, 2026. The wider anniversary program includes curated Game Pass collections, a 25th-anniversary profile badge available through the end of 2026, FanFest tour stops and a new official Xbox Gear merchandise shop. The Windows 11 PC bundle is a separate purchase-based promotion rather than a general Game Pass benefit.

What is still unknown
- The complete list of all 25 games.
- The full list of eligible Windows 11 PC models and participating retailers.
- Individual system requirements and whether each title supports Xbox Play Anywhere.
- Exact redemption messaging, code-delivery rules and regional terms beyond the announced U.S. availability.
- How supplies will be allocated if demand exceeds the available bundles.
Microsoft says those details will be available at aka.ms/XBOXbundle on November 2, the first day of the purchase window. Buyers who need a PC immediately should treat the five named games and the more-than-$500 valuation as the currently confirmed information, then verify the exact model and requirements before paying.
