No. As of October 8, 2026, miHoYo/HoYoverse is not giving every Genshin Impact player 1,600 free Primogems. The 1,600 figure comes from a historical event: a Version 4.0 Twitch livestream reward that required 30 hours of eligible streaming and was capped at 3,000 sets. The most recent official events offer much smaller amounts under their own rules, and the ones that have run have already closed. This guide explains what is confirmed, what has ended, and how to check any future offer before you act on it.
Is a 1,600-Primogem giveaway running right now?
The official notices linked below do not establish a current, universal 1,600-Primogem offer. Primogem amounts are set per event, so a figure that appeared in one campaign does not carry over to the next. If you found a page or video promising 1,600 free Primogems to everyone, treat it as out of date until you can match it to a current notice on the official Genshin Impact news page at the Vesna’s Patrol Mission notice or another dated post from HoYoverse.
What the official events show
The table compares the four official notices that matter for this question. Dates and time zones are taken directly from each notice.
| Event (official notice) | Dates | Entry requirements | Reward stated in the notice | Delivery and expiry | Status as of October 8, 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Vesna’s Patrol Mission (HoYoverse, published September 24, 2026) | September 24 to October 4, 2026 (UTC+8) | Successful participation as defined in the notice | 40 Primogems, Hero’s Wit and Mora for successful participants; 160 Primogems for 100 randomly selected successful participants | Redemption code valid through October 22, 2026 at 23:59 (UTC+8); rewards after code use go to in-game mail that expires after 30 days | Participation closed |
| Time to Get Moving! web event (HoYoverse, published June 10, 2026) | June 10 to 25, 2026 (server time) | Adventure Rank 1 or above; log in with a HoYoverse Account; select the corresponding character; complete web tasks | Not specified as 1,600 in the notice summary | Sent by in-game mail; mail expires after 30 days | Ended |
| Version 4.0 “As Light Rain Falls Without Reason” Twitch Livestream Event (HoYoverse, 2023 notice) | Historical event | 30 hours of eligible streaming | 1,600 Primogems, with 3,000 sets available at that milestone | Not stated in the summary; if oversubscribed, selection depended on average concurrent viewers | Historical; not a general offer |
| “A Letter of Thanks” anniversary reward (HoYoverse, published August 25, 2024) | Rewards distributed August 26 to 30, 2024 | Adventure Rank 7 or above | 1,000 Primogems, delivered as 200 per day | Daily in-game mail; claim period ended with Version 5.0 | Ended |
The 1,600-Primogem route that did exist
The only official notice in this group that lists 1,600 Primogems is the Version 4.0 Twitch livestream event. It was a streaming-activity reward, not a login bonus or a giveaway to all players. Eligible streaming time had to reach 30 hours, and only 3,000 reward sets were available at that milestone. When more creators qualified than there were sets, average concurrent viewers decided who received the reward. Anyone who saw that headline later and expected the same terms to apply to all players has been working from a historical offer.

How to claim an official reward when one is running
Use this sequence for any future event. It works the same way for web events, redemption codes and anniversary rewards.
- Open the event notice on the official Genshin Impact news page and note the start date, end date and time zone. Server-time events and UTC+8 events can close at different moments for your region.
- Read the eligibility section before you start. Check the minimum Adventure Rank, whether a HoYoverse Account login is required, and whether you must select a particular character.
- Complete the listed tasks while you are still inside the event window. Participation that ends on a fixed date cannot be finished afterward.
- If the notice gives a redemption code, redeem it before the stated code deadline. Record the code and the deadline in case the reward mail is delayed.
- Check in-game mail after the reward is sent. Claim attachments within the expiry window the notice gives, because unclaimed mail is lost once it expires.
Why a reward may not arrive
- The event has closed. The Vesna’s Patrol Mission participation window ended October 4, 2026 (UTC+8), and the Time to Get Moving! event ended June 25, 2026 (server time). An older post or a referral code does not reopen either event.
- Your Adventure Rank is too low. Several notices set a minimum rank; the June 2026 web event required Adventure Rank 1 or above and the 2024 anniversary reward required Adventure Rank 7 or above.
- You logged in with the wrong account or character. Events that require a HoYoverse Account login and character selection will not credit rewards to another account or a different character.
- The random selection did not include you. Events that award a fixed amount to a limited number of randomly chosen participants, such as the 160-Primogem draw in Vesna’s Patrol Mission, do not pay everyone who participated.
- The mail expired. Rewards delivered by in-game mail expire after the stated period, which was 30 days in both 2026 events above.
How to tell a real offer from a fake one
- Trust only HoYoverse’s official Genshin Impact news pages, in-game mail and official redemption pages. Third-party posts that quote 1,600 Primogems without a linked notice are not evidence of an offer.
- Be wary of any claim that requires payment. A paid top-up or gift card is not a route to a free reward, and no official notice reviewed for this guide asks for a purchase to claim one.
- No physical item is needed to claim official Primogem rewards. A request for a phone number, a survey purchase or a third-party download to “unlock” a reward is a warning sign.
- Compare the notice date with the event date. A post with a 2023 or 2024 reward amount that describes it as “today only” is not current.
Summary of what can be verified today
Official events have paid Primogems in amounts that depend on the event: 40 for successful participants and 160 for a random draw in the most recent event, and 1,000 across five days for the 2024 anniversary reward. The 1,600-Primogem streaming reward is the only 1,600 figure in the official notices linked here, and it belonged to a historical streaming event with a 30-hour requirement. Check the official notice itself before you assume any reward applies to your account.
