The safest interpretation is that May 28 is the Steam date shown on Steam and May 29 is the date shown on those Nintendo UK and PlayStation pages, not that one platform is necessarily delayed worldwide.
A February 12, 2026 announcement from Yacht Club Games named Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X and Steam, but gave only a spring release window. It said the exact date would be announced after console submissions were complete. The later store pages are the better reference for the platform and region you are buying from.
If timing matters, open the store page tied to your own account and country on the day you plan to play. Do not convert one region’s date into a universal launch time without checking the platform’s countdown or release notice.
Digital purchase or physical copy?
The official pages identified here support digital storefront purchases. Nintendo explicitly labels its product as download software, and Steam, PlayStation Store and Xbox Store present digital buying options.
