A player has reported connection lag, frame drops and missed inputs, but that single report does not show how widespread the issue is or prove that the network is responsible. Try the safe checks below to narrow down what is happening; none is a confirmed fix for this game.
What is known about PS5 multiplayer lag
Minecraft Dungeons II launched on September 29, 2026. The Minecraft launch announcement confirms its release, and the PlayStation Store listing describes solo and co-op play, with up to four online players and PlayStation Plus required for online play. Online play is optional.
On October 2, 2026, one player posted to Minecraft Feedback that they experienced “Server lag with frame drops every 10 -15s missing inputs as well on PS5 Console.” A comment also used the term “rubber banding.” These are individual player descriptions, not an official diagnosis or evidence that all PS5 players are affected. The frequency in that post describes that player’s experience, not a measured rate.
Work through these checks in order
1. Compare online play with solo play
If practical, compare the same kind of play online and solo. Symptoms that occur only during online multiplayer make connection or service conditions worth checking first, but do not prove the network is the cause. If stutter or missed inputs also occur offline, do not assume this is an internet-lag problem. This comparison is a troubleshooting inference, not a game-specific test confirmed by Mojang.

2. Check for a game update
- On the PS5 home screen, highlight Minecraft Dungeons II.
- Open the game’s options menu and choose Check for Update.
- If an update is available, install it and try multiplayer again. PlayStation also says games update automatically when started.
See PlayStation’s instructions for checking game updates.
3. Check PSN status and restart the console and router
Check whether PlayStation Network services are operating, then restart the PS5 and router. PlayStation’s general PS5 connection guidance recommends these steps; it does not identify them as a fix for this game’s reported symptoms. One PlayStation support page advises waiting at least five minutes before restarting the router. Follow the relevant guidance at PS5 Error Code NW-102468-1 and PS5 Error Code WS-116520-5.

4. Compare Wi-Fi with a wired connection
If you use Wi-Fi, test closer to the router and reduce obstacles between it and the console. If possible, try a wired connection with a PS5-compatible LAN cable. PlayStation recommends trying wired connectivity in some connection troubleshooting guidance and identifies a LAN cable as the wired method in its PS5 Digital Edition Quick Start Guide. As PlayStation puts it: “If possible, connect to the Internet using a wired connection.” This is general network advice, not evidence that Ethernet fixes Minecraft Dungeons II stutter or lag.
5. Note the pattern and report persistent symptoms
If the problem continues, record whether it occurs only online, whether you are using Wi-Fi or Ethernet, how often it happens, and whether you see rubber-banding, frame stutter, or missed inputs. Note whether it persists across sessions or appears limited to one session or group. This information describes the symptoms more usefully than calling every issue “server lag”; it does not by itself identify the cause. The Minecraft Feedback site is where the cited PS5 player report was posted.

How to interpret what you observe
| Observation | What it may help you check | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Symptoms appear online but not in solo play | Check service status and compare connection conditions. | It does not prove the network or game servers are at fault. |
| Symptoms also occur offline | Describe the issue as stutter or missed inputs as well as lag, and check for a game update. | It does not establish an internet-connection problem. |
| Wi-Fi behaves differently from wired Ethernet | Record the connection type and whether symptoms change. | A wired test is not a verified title-specific fix. |
| Rubber-banding, frame drops, or missed inputs recur | Record which symptom occurs, its approximate frequency, and whether it happens across sessions. | Player wording alone does not confirm a server, network, or performance diagnosis. |
Avoid unverified or disruptive fixes
The available sources do not establish an official bug diagnosis or a Minecraft Dungeons II-specific remedy. Do not factory-reset the PS5 or change router ports solely on the basis of this report; no relevant error code or official game guidance supports those steps here. Likewise, a cable, console restart, or update check is worth trying for troubleshooting, but none should be presented as a guaranteed resolution.
