The article does not say that a Unique item’s level, base stats, rarity, or identity can be upgraded. So the useful distinction is: enchantment upgrading is confirmed; upgrading the Unique item itself is not. The guide also does not specify upgrade costs, prerequisites, or rarity restrictions.
Can you reroll a Unique item’s effects?
The guide says items have a chance to feature random effects, which means items can vary. It does not describe a reroll button, service, or other way to change those effects after obtaining an item. Random effects should not be taken as evidence that they can be rerolled.

The published information also does not explain whether Unique items have fixed effects or can roll different ones. Until that is clarified, neither a guaranteed fixed-effect rule nor a reroll mechanic is established.
Can you trade Unique gear with other players?
The official material cited here does not confirm player-to-player gear trading. Co-op support is not proof of trading: playing together and transferring equipment are separate mechanics. Do not count on being able to hand a Unique item to a teammate based on co-op alone.

What gear systems are confirmed?
Mojang says combat slots expand from six to twelve in Minecraft Dungeons II. The equipment options it names include four armor pieces—helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots—and talismans, a new category that provides passive bonuses. The guide’s confirmed refinement system is enchantment-focused, giving players a way to develop builds without establishing item-level upgrades or rerolls.
Mojang’s article puts the enchantment system this way: “Enchantments can also be upgraded and leveled up over time, allowing you to continually refine and strengthen your favorite builds as you prepare for the challenges ahead!” That statement is about enchantments; it does not confirm that Unique gear itself can be upgraded.
