When was Minecraft Live 2024, and where could viewers watch?
Minecraft announced the broadcast on September 18, 2024, and scheduled it for September 28 at 1 p.m. EDT. The announcement listed YouTube, Twitch and Minecraft.net as viewing options. It promised a new look and feel, news from developers at Minecraft HQ in Stockholm, new game drops, and an after-show in which developers would explore updates and play new content. The September 18 announcement said viewers could expect “never-before-seen game drops” and exclusive insight into new things coming to Minecraft.

The main broadcast was announced in English, with English audio descriptions, American Sign Language and British Sign Language. Subtitles were promised after the broadcast in Arabic (MSA), Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Czech, Filipino, French, Canadian French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Persian (Farsi), Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Portuguese, Castilian Spanish, Mexican Spanish, Russian, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.

What did Minecraft Live 2024 reveal?
The Pale Garden and the Creaking
The official September 28 recap introduced the Pale Garden, an eerie biome that is peaceful by day and more unsettling at night, and the hostile mob that inhabits it: the Creaking. The Creaking freezes when watched and cannot be defeated by attacking it directly; players need to find the Creaking Heart block connected to it. The event’s after-show featured developers Lydia, Jens, Anna and Marco demonstrating new features. Minecraft’s event recap describes what the broadcast showed.

A Minecraft Movie
The broadcast included a film segment with Mojang creative director of entertainment Torfi Frans Olafsson and director Jared Hess. Minecraft’s recap said the segment included a never-before-seen scene. That wording describes what the recap reported at the time; it does not establish that the scene remains publicly available.
Bundles of Bravery
The recap described Bundles of Bravery as bringing Hardcore mode to Bedrock Edition, where it had not previously been available, and bundles to all editions. Bundles help players organize their inventory.

When did the Pale Garden become playable?
The event reveal preceded testing and release. On October 2, 2024, Minecraft said Pale Garden features were available in Java snapshots, with Bedrock previews and beta expected soon. The feature article described the Creaking as a hostile mob that stays still while watched and said locating its Creaking Heart was the way to defeat it. Those early features were still in development, so their details should be understood in that context. Minecraft’s October feature article covered the initial testing stage.

On December 3, 2024, Minecraft announced that The Garden Awakens drop was playable on both Java and Bedrock. Its announcement highlighted the Pale Garden, Creaking, Creaking Heart, pale oak, resin, hanging moss and other features. The December announcement marks the later playable milestone for the reveal.
