If a browser Minesweeper page will not load or display properly
Refresh and reduce browser load
Reload the page, then close unnecessary tabs, downloads, apps, and browser extensions. If you use Microsoft Edge, update it as well. Microsoft notes that high memory use can prevent pages from loading and recommends closing excess tabs and apps, removing unnecessary extensions, and restarting Edge. Clear cached files in Edge
If the page still renders incorrectly, try clearing cached files before deleting broader browsing data. In Edge, open Settings and more > History > Open history page > Delete browsing data. Choose All time, select Cached images and files, and select Clear now. Clearing all browsing data can have wider effects, so start with this narrower option.

Check whether the problem is the browser or connection
Open the same game in another browser. If it fails there too, the cause may be the network or the website rather than the original browser. Microsoft suggests restarting the modem or router and contacting the website owner if the problem persists. A browser-only test cannot establish whether a particular game site is compatible with every browser.
If the Microsoft Minesweeper app is stuck loading
Restart and check for an app update
Close the game and restart the PC, then check Microsoft Store for an update. These steps were suggested in a Microsoft Q&A response about an app loading-animation problem reported on January 1–2, 2024; the reply came from an Independent Advisor, not current official game documentation. The report does not establish whether the app is currently down.

Try Repair before Reset
If restarting and checking for updates do not help, try the app’s Repair option before considering Reset or reinstalling. The cited Q&A response suggests Repair and then Reset if needed, but it does not establish what Reset preserves. Confirm that progress is synchronized or otherwise backed up before resetting. Choose the least disruptive next step
Start with actions that are easy to reverse, such as reloading, restarting, or testing another browser. Move on to clearing cached files for a browser issue, or Repair for an app issue. Resetting or reinstalling may require additional setup and could affect stored state; available sources do not verify Microsoft Minesweeper’s save behavior. Record the exact version and symptom if you need to contact the site owner or seek support.
