Verdict: Toy Story 3 Complete Edition is worth playing on PS5 if you want the 2010 movie tie-in with restored content, local co-op and a smoother, sharper presentation. It is not a remake. This is a carefully upgraded port whose best feature remains Toy Box, the unusually generous Wild West sandbox that gives the short campaign a reason to revisit it.
What is Toy Story 3 Complete Edition?
Released for PS5 on 15 October 2026, Toy Story 3 Complete Edition brings the 2010 console adventure to current hardware. The official PlayStation description presents it as a 3D game based on the animated film, starring Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie. Atari is the publisher, with Digital Eclipse credited as developer and remaster developer.

The package combines a film-inspired Story Mode with the customizable Toy Box Mode, also called Woody’s Roundup. Both modes support local two-player co-op. The PS5 version raises output to as high as 4K and 60fps, but the underlying game, level design and mechanics remain recognizably those of the original release.

It is a port with restored material and a graphics upgrade, not a ground-up remake. Lighting, resolution and frame-rate output are improved for PS5, while the 2010 assets, controls and structure are largely retained. Expect a cleaner image and steadier motion rather than redesigned environments, new systems or a rebuilt campaign.

Ideal for property managers, remodeling contractors, apartment turnover crews, maintenance teams, and commercial painting operations. Backed by thousands of verified reviews from working painters. Washable and reusable for multiple projects.
That distinction matters. The Complete Edition does not turn the game into a modern cinematic platformer, and it adds little in the way of new mechanics or archival extras. Its appeal is convenience and preservation: the console version is easier to play on current hardware, and content once limited to particular editions is included.
What does Complete Edition add?
- Playable Emperor Zurg: Zurg joins Toy Box Mode as a playable character.
- Four additional theme packs: These expand the customization options for the sandbox.
- Higher output on PS5: The game can run at up to 4K resolution and 60fps.
Those additions make this the most complete console package of the 2010 game, but they do not amount to a second campaign or a major expansion. If you already own the older version, the principal reasons to return are the restored extras, PS5 access and presentation improvements.
Story Mode: short, varied and faithful to the film
Story Mode follows film-inspired locations and set pieces across eight levels. The stages are relatively short, but they change genre frequently: platforming gives way to stealth, action, shooting, racing and minigame sequences. That variety keeps the campaign moving even when individual sections are uncomplicated.

Three characters, three traversal styles
- Woody uses his pull string to swing across gaps and reach distant points.
- Buzz Lightyear relies on strength and flight, making him the most direct option in many encounters.
- Jessie specializes in precise landings and tighter platforming maneuvers.
Switching between the trio gives familiar scenes different movement problems and helps the levels feel less repetitive. None of the abilities transforms the game into a deep character-action system, however; they are straightforward tools built around accessible family play.
How long is the campaign?
The eight Story Mode levels form a relatively short adventure. The game does not provide the scale of a modern, 20-hour platformer. Its compact length is easier to accept because Toy Box supplies the longer-term activity, but anyone buying solely for a substantial new story should lower expectations.
Toy Box is the reason to keep playing
Toy Box is a Wild West sandbox in which you accept missions, earn coins, unlock buildings and toys, customize the town and dress its residents. The loop is clear: complete activities, receive currency and use those rewards to make the settlement more personal and more elaborate.

Compared with the linear campaign, Toy Box offers more freedom and a stronger sense of ownership. You can decide which upgrades to pursue, alter the town’s look and return to earlier areas with new toys or characters. Reviews consistently identify this mode as the game’s most replayable feature, and that remains the soundest reason to buy the PS5 edition.

Controls, camera and 2010-era limitations
The remaster does not solve every legacy problem. Controls can feel stiff, and the camera occasionally makes platforming awkward. These issues are most noticeable when a jump requires a precise landing or when the view obscures the next platform. The sharper image makes objects easier to see, but it cannot change the age of the underlying animation, collision and level assets.

- Bates paint brushes come in a convenient 6 pieces with 3 flat and 3 angled bristle styles, including (1”, 1.5”, 2”) flat and (1.5”, 2”, 2.5”) angled bristles, perfect for tackling any surface painting or staining job.
- The sturdy natural bristles of each brush are designed to hold more paint, creating a smoother finish with fewer streaks and saving you time on the job.
- The lightweight wooden handles provide extra comfort and ease during long painting processes like walls, trims, cabinets, and doors.
- These versatile brushes are ready-to-use, easy to clean, and can be reused multiple times, making them economical as well as reliable tools for any painting project.
- Bates paint brushes can be used for both oil-based paints as well as latex stains and are ideal for home or commercial projects such as decks, fences or DIY painting jobs.
That leaves a familiar trade-off: the game is more pleasant to revisit than it was on older hardware, yet it still plays like a 2010 licensed platformer. Players expecting modern accessibility options, newly authored stages or extensive developer commentary will find a modest package instead.

Who should buy it?
Buy it if
- You are a Toy Story fan who wants the movie tie-in on PS5.
- You value a customizable sandbox more than a long linear campaign.
- You want local co-op for two players.
- You missed the previously restricted Zurg content and theme packs.
- You appreciate a smoother 4K/60fps presentation of a favorite older game.
Wait for a discount or skip it if
- You are seeking a substantial new campaign or modernized mechanics.
- You dislike stiff controls, awkward camera behavior or visibly dated assets.
- You want a museum-style collection with extensive archival material.
- You already own the 2010 version and do not care about PS5 output or restored extras.
Final verdict
Toy Story 3 Complete Edition earns its place on PS5 through Toy Box, not through a transformative remaster. The sandbox’s missions, coin-driven unlocks and town customization still give the licensed adventure unusual replay value, while the three-character campaign offers a brisk, varied tour through the film’s world. Restored content, local co-op and up-to-4K/60fps output make this the most convenient console version, but the short story, dated assets and unchanged design prevent it from feeling new.
For families, nostalgic players and Toy Story enthusiasts, the $24.99 digital price is reasonable if Toy Box is the attraction. Everyone else should treat it as a polished port and consider waiting for a sale rather than expecting a remake.
