To reach it, take the hidden route from the Grand Lift of Rold to the Consecrated Snowfield, solve the puzzle in Ordina, Liturgical Town, then use the waygate it opens. The route continues from the Haligtree’s exposed canopy through Haligtree Town and Elphael to Haligtree Roots, where Malenia waits.
How to get to Miquella’s Haligtree
The entrance is reached from the Consecrated Snowfield, not directly from the Grand Lift. You need both halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion to access the Snowfield’s hidden route, then must open the waygate in Ordina, Liturgical Town.

- Find both halves of the Haligtree Secret Medallion.
- At the Grand Lift of Rold, use the option to hoist the secret medallion. This takes you to the Consecrated Snowfield rather than the usual route.
- Travel to Ordina, Liturgical Town, and interact with the evergaol at the town’s entrance.
- Within the evergaol, light the four figures’ candles to unlock the sealed waygate. Watch for threats while navigating the rooftops and streets.
- Leave the evergaol and take the now-open waygate in Ordina. It leads to the Haligtree Canopy.
The Snowfield and Ordina are part of the access route, but the Haligtree itself is optional. EIP Gaming’s Haligtree guide describes the area as optional and points to Elphael as the destination beyond it.
Miquella’s Haligtree walkthrough
The route descends from the tree’s canopy through its settlement, passes Loretta, then enters Elphael, a fortress-like complex around the lower tree. From there, follow the route to Haligtree Roots and Malenia.

| Section | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Haligtree Canopy | The opening stretch runs over elevated branches. Narrow footing makes falls a major danger. |
| Haligtree Town and Haligtree Town Plaza | Descend into the upper settlement and continue through its connected rooftops and platforms. |
| Loretta | Progress through the town to face Loretta, then continue beyond the arena. |
| Haligtree Promenade and Prayer Room | These areas lead onward from the town into the lower complex. |
| Elphael Inner Wall and Drainage Channel | Navigate the fortress-like lower section toward the tree’s roots. |
| Haligtree Roots | Reach the area’s final approach and Malenia’s boss arena. |
This progression follows the route listed in PowerPyx’s Miquella’s Haligtree walkthrough. Use landmarks and Sites of Grace to orient yourself as the route shifts from branches and rooftops to enclosed fortress passages.

The canopy’s narrow, elevated branches make falling a central risk. Charging through enemies can leave you exposed to attacks that interrupt movement or push you off the path. EIP Gaming’s walkthrough recommends a shield and ranged weapons or spells as safer ways to deal with threats.
- Clear enemies from a safer position: Use ranged attacks where possible rather than advancing into a crowded or narrow section.
- Keep a shield ready: Blocking can help when an enemy closes in while you are crossing a precarious route.
- Move deliberately: Prioritize stable footing over speed, especially on branches and rooftops.
- Choose your approach: Running past enemies may save time, but careful clearing offers more control where a fall would undo progress.
How the Haligtree and Elphael fit together
The Haligtree is associated with Miquella. Its upper section includes a settlement among the branches; the route then descends into Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree, a large fortress around the lower tree. Reference material describes Misbegotten in Haligtree Town and soldiers and knights serving Miquella and Malenia in Elphael. These details help distinguish the areas’ feel without implying more about their history or purpose than the game’s evidence establishes.
For a room-by-room route from the canopy to Malenia, consult PowerPyx. For additional guidance on the optional area and its traversal risks, see EIP Gaming.
