Mists of Pandaria Classic is out. Blizzard launched the World of Warcraft Classic expansion on July 21, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. PDT. It raises the level cap to 90 and brings Pandaria’s zones, dungeons, raids, scenarios and Challenge Modes to Classic realms.
When did Mists of Pandaria Classic launch?
Blizzard first announced the expansion in November 2024 with a summer 2025 release window. On July 1, 2025, it confirmed the launch date as July 21 at 3:00 p.m. PDT; the expansion then launched on that date. Blizzard’s November 2024 announcement introduced the return to Pandaria, while its pre-patch notice set the date and time.
What did the pre-patch add?
The pre-patch arrived before the expansion itself, so its features were distinct from the launch content. Blizzard’s July 1 notice lists the Pandaren race and Monk class, class changes, area-of-effect looting, the Attack on Theramore event and pet battles. Read Blizzard’s pre-patch announcement.
What came with the expansion launch?
At launch, characters could level to 90 and travel through the Wandering Isle and Pandaria’s leveling zones. Blizzard listed six new dungeons, four revamped Heroic dungeons, three raids, scenarios and Challenge Mode dungeons among the expansion’s launch content. Blizzard’s launch page details the release.

How do you access it?
Blizzard’s launch information says Mists of Pandaria Classic is included with an active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time. The launch-date announcement gives Blizzard’s access terms; it does not state a separate expansion purchase requirement.
How did Classic differ from the original expansion?
Classic followed its own content rollout and included documented raid-rule differences. In September 2025, Blizzard said the realm-first challenge for Heart of Fear and Terrace of Endless Spring included 10-player raid achievements. It also removed the original requirement to defeat Grand Empress Shek’zeer before entering Terrace of Endless Spring. Blizzard’s raid schedule notice describes those rules.

The rollout continued after launch: Blizzard announced Landfall as live in September 2025, adding the Krasarang Wilds faction campaign, Wrathion’s Legendary questline, Brawler’s Guild and other content. Blizzard’s Landfall update covers that phase.

In a January 29, 2026 recap, Blizzard said Mists of Pandaria Classic continued on the original Classic realms and that updates would arrive over time. It described Escalation as the next major milestone and said Siege of Orgrimmar and the return of Timeless Isle were planned for later in 2026. Those were future plans in that dated update, not confirmation that the later content had already arrived. See Blizzard’s January 2026 recap.
