Mistveil Prison is a solo Mysterious Stage in Where Winds Meet, reached after the earlier Mist-Shrouded Prison dungeon. Its central puzzle revolves around a pressure plate that cycles a symbol-marked slab, changing the dungeon’s routes and hazards. This guide explains how to reach it, how to work through the rotating-room states, and what the optional chests and final reward contain.
What is Mistveil Prison?
Mistveil Prison is a Mysterious Stage in Where Winds Meet, associated with Mistveil Forest in Kaifeng. The publisher’s Version 1.2 update announcement says the stage is designed for solo play. It became available January 16, 2026, with the new character appearing in Mistveil Forest after players complete the Mistveil Dungeon and return to its entrance.
The name is easy to confuse with Mist-Shrouded Prison, an earlier dungeon. They are separate pieces of content, not alternate names for the same stage.

How to unlock Mistveil Prison
- Complete Mist-Shrouded Prison. Game8 reports this earlier dungeon as a prerequisite for the Mistveil Prison Mysterious Stage.
- Complete the Mistveil Dungeon, then return to its entrance. The official Version 1.2 announcement describes the new character’s appearance in Mistveil Forest after these steps.
- Speak to the kneeling man at the entrance. All Things How’s walkthrough reports that this interaction starts the stage through dialogue choices. Treat this as route guidance rather than an official unlock requirement; the publisher’s announcement does not specify the man or dialogue.
How the rotating-room puzzle works
After the opening route through cells, suspended cages, traps, and looping corridors, you reach a central mechanism. A pressure plate cycles a symbol-bearing slab visible through a crack in the wall. Each symbol is a different configuration of the dungeon: doors, shafts, lifts, traps, paths, and chest access change with the state.
The walkthrough identifies four configurations: Bull/Cow, Walking Man, Fish, and Miner. A practical approach is to explore a configuration thoroughly before pressing the plate again. Rotating away can change the route, so note accessible side paths and chests while that state is active. These puzzle details are from a January 19, 2026 walkthrough; route behavior may change with game updates.

Bull/Cow
Use this as one distinct route state rather than assuming its paths remain available after the next rotation. Check its altered doors and passages before changing the slab.
Walking Man
This configuration changes the dungeon’s routes and access points. Explore the state fully, including any newly reachable side areas, before cycling onward.

Fish
The walkthrough describes a chase sequence in this state. It also reports that movement and line of sight matter during some encounters, so keep track of the Lady in Red rather than treating the route as a simple sprint.
Miner
Like the other symbols, Miner changes the layout and can expose different paths or chest access. Check the configuration before rotating to another state.

Managing the Lady in Red
The Lady in Red recurs as a hazard. All Things How describes a “Fear: The Unknown” meter that becomes dangerous as you approach her, with her behavior varying by room and configuration. In encounters where the walkthrough calls out line of sight or movement, use cover and route changes to avoid staying exposed. Because those tactics depend on the encounter and may be affected by patches, follow the behavior you see in your current room rather than assuming every appearance works identically.

The optional chest sweep is distinct from reaching the stage’s final treasure. If you want the smaller chests as well, use each rotating-room configuration to check its changed routes before moving on.
