Some iPad players have reported pixelated or low-detail graphics in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, including cases where the in-game HD Mode setting seemed ineffective. The reports date from 2021 to 2024; they do not establish that this is a current, widespread bug or that it affects every iPad.
What the iPad graphics reports actually show
Several individual players described reduced image quality or an HD Mode toggle that did not appear to improve the picture. A 2021 post reported low-resolution rendering on a 2020 iPad Pro and other iPads, while saying that changing HD Mode made no visible difference (2021 player report). A separate 2022 player said toggling HD Mode and Screen Shake temporarily changed the appearance, but the improvement disappeared after closing the game (2022 player report). In 2024, another iPad Pro 2020 owner said HD Mode had stopped working and that reinstalling the game did not resolve it (2024 player report).
These are dated accounts from individual players, not an official diagnosis or evidence of how many devices are affected. They cannot confirm whether the same behavior persists in the current game release. One App Store review title asks, “Am I the only one who is having a low resolution issue recently?” That conveys a player’s concern, not the prevalence of the problem.
What to check in the game
Confirm the HD Mode setting and observe the result
Check the game’s graphics settings and note whether HD Mode is enabled. Compare the image before and after changing the setting, ideally in the same scene. If you try the HD Mode and Screen Shake toggles mentioned in the 2022 post, treat them only as an anecdotal experiment: that player said the change did not survive closing the game, and it is not an official or guaranteed fix.

Record when the symptom occurs
Note whether the image changes after restarting the game or following an update, and whether the issue appears only on one account or across accounts on the same iPad. These observations can help distinguish a setting or account-specific symptom from one that follows the device. They do not, by themselves, identify the cause.
Why Apple settings do not confirm a fix
Apple describes Game Mode as a way for supported games on iPadOS 18 or later to receive higher-priority CPU and GPU access, which can improve frame consistency and responsiveness. Apple’s developer guidance also explains that games may adapt graphics to device capabilities or power conditions, potentially lowering resolution, frame rate, or visual detail. When contacting support, include practical details that make the report easier to assess:
- Your exact iPad model and iPadOS version.
- The Mobile Legends game version and when you first noticed the image-quality change.
- Your graphics settings, including whether HD Mode is enabled.
- A screenshot or short recording showing the issue, if you can capture it.
- Whether restarting, changing HD Mode, or updating the game changes the result.
Do not assume that reinstalling will fix it: the 2024 report describes one player for whom reinstalling did not help, which does not predict what will happen on another device.
