Cyber Attack was reported missing from a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II playlist rotation in December 2022, prompting some players to ask for its return. The available evidence points to a playlist omission—not proof that Activision permanently removed the mode from the game.
What changed with Cyber Attack in Modern Warfare II?
Activision’s Season 01 Reloaded patch notes state: “Added Cyber Attack to Private Matches.” That confirms the mode was made available in private matches in that update; it does not establish that it was part of public matchmaking.

On December 28, 2022, a community playlist-update post reported “Cyber Attack removed” and said it was not added to Quick Play or Tier 1. Read together, these sources describe different availability contexts: private matches in the official notes and an absence from the public playlist options discussed in the community post.
Was Cyber Attack permanently removed?
The cited information does not establish permanent removal from Modern Warfare II. It documents the mode’s addition to Private Matches and a report that it was absent from a particular playlist rotation. A rotation change or omission is narrower than removal from the game altogether.

How did players react?
Comments in the December 2022 thread included requests such as “Please bring back cyber” and “Where the hell is Cyber attack,” alongside comments from players who said they liked the mode. These show frustration and interest among commenters, but there is no representative survey or player-count figure here to measure how widespread that reaction was.

A separate 2024 community post asked for Cyber Attack in Modern Warfare III. It is evidence of continued interest from some players, not a status update about Modern Warfare II.
