Monolith Crown Puzzle in Crimson Desert: Route, Laser Solution, and Rewards

Monolith Crown is an Abyss Restoration Challenge on Crimson Desert’s Triangle Ring route. Reach it from Crow’s Nest through the Skybridge after the Chapter 5 Crowcaller sequence, activate the floating cube controller with Axiom Force, and rotate the cube until every orange or yellow wall target is struck by a laser. Two published move sequences use different starting states, so save first and confirm each target lights after every move.

What you need before entering Monolith Crown

Monolith Crown is not available as an early free-roam detour. The access route opens after the Chapter 5 Crowcaller story content. PowerPyx places the entrance after finishing Story Chapter 5; VULKK describes the same progression as completing the Spire of Soaring and defeating Draven the Crowcaller. These are two descriptions of the same story gate.

  • Complete the Chapter 5 Crowcaller objective, including the Draven the Crowcaller encounter.
  • Open the sky map and locate the Triangle Ring region.
  • Travel to Crow’s Nest, the area associated with the Crowcaller fight.
  • Make a manual save after activating the Monolith Crown fast-travel point. The puzzle guides disagree on the cube’s starting state, so this save is your safest recovery point.

You can solve the challenge with the normal movement and Axiom Force abilities. No special weapon, companion, or consumable is identified as a requirement.

How to reach Monolith Crown from Crow’s Nest

1. Start at the Crow’s Nest fast-travel point

Open the sky map, select Triangle Ring, and travel to Crow’s Nest. PowerPyx says to move past the tree near the fast-travel point and turn right toward the Skybridge. VULKK places the Skybridge on the southwest corner of Crow’s Nest. The landmarks are described differently, but both routes lead to the same bridge and teleporter.

2. Activate the Skybridge

Use Axiom Force on the Skybridge mechanism. Once it is active, enter the teleporter at the end of the bridge. This transfers you to the Monolith Crown platform rather than to another part of Crow’s Nest.

3. Cross the turbine gap

PowerPyx recommends performing three midair Force Palm actions while crossing the approach and then gliding over the wind turbines. The exact timing depends on your position and the platform layout, so use the turbines as visual markers rather than trying to reproduce a fixed jump distance. If you fall, return to Crow’s Nest and reactivate the bridge.

4. Activate Monolith Crown’s fast travel point

When you land on the Monolith Crown island, activate its fast-travel point before attempting the puzzle. This gives you a nearby restart location and lets you return without repeating the entire Skybridge crossing.

Find the cube controller

The controller is not on the main upper platform. From the Monolith Crown fast-travel point, look toward the back-left side and drop to the small lower floating island. A glowing ring is embedded in the floating cube there.

  1. Drop from the main platform to the small lower island.
  2. Stand beside the glowing ring in the floating cube.
  3. Use Axiom Force when the interaction prompt appears.
  4. Wait for the cube view to open before entering a move.

The cube view shows lasers projecting toward the surrounding walls. The objective is to orient the cube so one laser reaches every orange or yellow wall target. A target that remains dark has not been counted, even if another laser is already aligned.

Understand the laser objective before rotating

Each move rotates the cube and changes the direction of its laser beams. Some moves should be allowed to complete fully so the beams settle; one of the published solutions specifically requires a rapid move without waiting for the lasers to fall. The game’s on-screen controls are authoritative for your platform, so follow the displayed Up, Down, Left, or Right inputs rather than assuming a keyboard or controller layout.

Watch the wall after every move. When a beam hits a target, the target lights up. If a move leaves a previously lit target dark, or lights a different arrangement from the one expected by your sequence, stop and reassess the starting state. Do not continue blindly through a mismatched sequence.

Published Monolith Crown move sequences

The available walkthroughs do not agree on one universal order. PowerPyx’s sequence and GamerHeadlines’ sequence appear to assume different initial orientations. GamerHeadlines also says its instructions were not independently playtested on version 2.01.00, so neither sequence should be treated as a guaranteed solution for every save.

Guide Stated starting condition Move sequence Evidence and date
PowerPyx The guide’s displayed starting position after opening the cube view Up (let the lasers fall), Up (let the lasers fall), Up (let the lasers fall), Left, Left, Up (fast, without letting the lasers fall), Up (let the lasers fall) PowerPyx walkthrough, April 3, 2026
GamerHeadlines Untouched starting position Right, Right, Up, Up, Up, Up, Left Guide checked September 9, 2026; it discusses notes through version 2.01.00 but says it did not independently playtest that version

Using the PowerPyx sequence

Choose the PowerPyx order if your cube opens in the orientation shown by that guide. Perform the first three Up moves one at a time and let the laser beams fall after each move. Make the two Left moves normally. On the next Up input, move quickly without waiting for the lasers to fall, then perform the final Up and let the beams settle.

Using the GamerHeadlines sequence

Choose the GamerHeadlines order only when the cube is still in the untouched orientation described there: two Right moves, four Up moves, and one Left move. Because the guide did not verify version 2.01.00 through direct play, check the wall targets after every input instead of assuming the order works unchanged on your version.

A safer, state-checking method

  1. Save before activating the cube controller, or use the Monolith Crown fast-travel save you made on arrival.
  2. Look at the initial laser arrangement and identify which wall targets are lit.
  3. Pick the sequence whose stated starting condition matches what you see.
  4. Enter one move only, using the control shown on your screen.
  5. Wait when that sequence calls for the lasers to fall, then verify that the expected target is lit.
  6. For the one move marked fast in the PowerPyx order, input it promptly without waiting for the beams to settle first.
  7. Reload the save or reset the puzzle if the target pattern diverges from the sequence. Continuing from a wrong orientation makes the remaining commands unreliable.

When every wall target is illuminated, the cube view closes automatically according to PowerPyx. You do not need to exit through a separate menu or attack the cube.

Finish the Abyss Restoration Challenge

Strike the floor cog

After the cube view closes, return to the main Monolith Crown platform. A large cog is set into the floor. Jump and use Force Palm while airborne to strike the cog. A ground-level Force Palm may fail to register, so make sure the attack is performed during the jump.

Collect the main reward

PowerPyx reports an Abyss Artifact for completing the restoration. This is the reward tied to solving the cube and hitting the floor cog, not to the separate chest found on the approach.

Optional chest and its separate loot

VULKK reports a chest along the route containing a Faded Abyss Artifact and Vigor III Abyss Gear. The gear is described as granting 6% Stamina Regeneration. Treat this chest as optional: opening it is not the same objective as aligning the lasers, and its contents are separate from the Abyss Artifact reported for the main repair.

If you are collecting everything, search the route platforms and turbine approach before leaving. If your only goal is to clear the Abyss Restoration Challenge, proceed directly from the solved cube to the floor cog.

Troubleshooting the Monolith Crown puzzle

A move does not light the expected target

Stop input immediately and compare the cube’s current orientation with the sequence’s stated starting state. The conflicting guides are the most likely explanation, not a missing ability. Reload the manual save and try the other published order only if its initial orientation matches your board.

The cube will not open

Make sure you are on the small lower floating island and targeting the glowing ring inside the floating cube. Axiom Force must be used at the controller; using the ability on the cube’s outer surface or from the upper platform will not start the puzzle.

The cube view never closes

Check the walls for an unlit orange or yellow target. The view is expected to exit automatically only after all targets have been hit. If one target remains dark, return to the last confirmed orientation and continue from a fresh save rather than guessing additional rotations.

You miss the lower island or turbine crossing

Use the Monolith Crown fast-travel point once you reach it, then retry the approach with three midair Force Palm actions and a glide over the turbines. The Skybridge route is repeatable from Crow’s Nest after the Chapter 5 gate is complete.

You are unsure whether a chest item counted as the reward

The chest loot and the restoration reward are separate. The chest is associated with the Faded Abyss Artifact and Vigor III Abyss Gear described by VULKK; the completed repair is associated with the Abyss Artifact reported by PowerPyx.

Version and guide-date context

PowerPyx published its Monolith Crown walkthrough on April 3, 2026, and VULKK published its route guide on April 15, 2026. GamerHeadlines describes a September 9, 2026 check and references official notes through version 2.01.00, while explicitly acknowledging that it did not independently playtest the puzzle on that version. Those dates explain why a fixed command order may not match every player’s opening orientation. The target lights on your screen are the final authority: save first, verify each move, and reload whenever the pattern diverges.

With the chapter gate cleared, the Skybridge activated, every wall target lit, and the floor cog struck with a jumping Force Palm, Monolith Crown is complete and its main Abyss reward is available.
