What the multiplier changes
A multiplier increases the stake attached to a roll, scaling what you can earn or spend. Scopely says its time-limited High Roller event allows higher multipliers for larger potential rewards, with the maximum setting limited by your available roll balance. The effect can also depend on the event: Scopely event materials describe multipliers affecting flag collection in Racers and the amount gained from board tiles in partner events. There is no documented balance threshold at which every player should switch from 1x to 5x. The useful comparison is how many dice a roll costs, how the active objective scales its reward, how much balance you will have left after an unproductive roll, and how much variance you are willing to accept.
When to use 1x, 5x, or higher

A practical check before raising the multiplier
- Read the live event objective. Confirm whether its rules actually scale the item, points, or reward you are trying to earn. Do not assume the same multiplier effect applies to every event.
- Check your dice balance. Decide how many higher-cost rolls you could make without using dice you want to save for another goal.
- Decide what a miss costs you. A larger setting magnifies the exposure of an unproductive roll as well as the potential event reward.
- Choose the stake you can tolerate. If the increased cost is not worth the possible reward to you, stay at 1x.
Do past rolls predict the next result?
No supported strategy in the available official material shows that a streak, a wait, or a token’s position a fixed number of spaces from a railroad changes or reliably predicts the next roll. Scopely’s May 15, 2025 Game Integrity Team note says rolls are independent and begin with unique seeds. It states: “Each roll starts with a Unique ‘Seed’: This ensures that every roll is independent of the previous one and prevents any patterns or predictability.” Scopely’s game-integrity note
Scopely also reports that it commissioned an independent analysis from Trail of Bits and describes the firm’s verdict as fair, random, and unbiased. That is Scopely’s account of the analysis; it is not a direct quotation from Trail of Bits. The practical implication for multiplier choice is that a higher setting changes the stake and reward scale, not a demonstrated ability to guide the dice.
