Monster Hunter Rise launched for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows PC, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on January 20, 2023. Xbox also announced Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass availability for launch day. That announcement records the launch offer; it does not confirm whether the game is in either subscription catalog today.
When did Monster Hunter Rise come to Xbox and PlayStation?
Capcom announced a January 20, 2023 release for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Windows, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The game is no longer an upcoming release: that date was the launch date for those versions. Capcom’s announcement named all five platform families.

Was Monster Hunter Rise on Game Pass?
Yes. Xbox announced that Monster Hunter Rise would be available on Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass on January 20, 2023. Capcom said Game Pass subscribers could play at no additional cost at launch; Game Pass Ultimate subscribers could also use Xbox Cloud Gaming. These are details of the 2023 launch announcement, not confirmation of current availability. Check the live Xbox Game Pass catalog for today’s status. Xbox Wire’s announcement specifically listed Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass.

Capcom advertised performance options for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5: up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, or 1080p at up to 120 frames per second. Capcom also listed 3D audio on both consoles and DualSense adaptive trigger support on PS5. These are manufacturer-stated specifications, not independent performance test results; the announcement does not establish that the same options apply to every platform, display or play mode.

Capcom producer Hiroyuki Minamitani told Xbox Wire that the Xbox and Windows PC versions would support crossplay and cross-platform progression: “Monster Hunter Rise will be available on Xbox and Windows PCs, with crossplay and cross platform progression.” The statement covers Xbox and Windows PC; it does not establish crossplay or shared progression with PlayStation, Nintendo Switch or Steam versions. Xbox Wire’s launch-day introduction includes the producer’s comments on the port.

Capcom said the new console versions included free updates through Version 10, with content and Event Quests previously released on Nintendo Switch and Steam. The company separately announced Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, a premium expansion adding a new main story, monsters and Master Rank challenges. Capcom lists April 28, 2023 as the Xbox and PlayStation release date for Sunbreak; the expansion is distinct from the base game.
