Capcom has announced the paid expansion for 2027, but official system requirements, settings, and tested combinations for smoother combat have not been published in the sources available. That means there are no evidence-based values to recommend for resolution, upscaling, or frame rate yet.
What is confirmed about Ascendance
Capcom announced Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance as a paid expansion planned for 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It requires the base game. The [Capcom announcement](https://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/news/html/e260608.html) establishes the release window and platforms, not the expansion’s performance targets or PC requirements.
The PlayStation preview says players must reach Hunter Rank 40 and complete “Awaking From a Dream” to start the story and enter Master Rank at launch. These are progression requirements, not hardware or graphics settings. See the [official PlayStation preview](https://blog.playstation.com/2026/09/03/monster-hunter-wilds-ascendance-reveals-new-monsters-story-details-and-gameplay/).
What the combat previews say—and what they do not
Capcom’s PlayStation preview describes the Boost Bracer as “a new piece of equipment that enables new abilities via the Hunter’s Slinger.” It temporarily enhances capabilities across the 14 weapon types, while Boost Drivers can create openings before the temporary Boost state. Official Steam previews also cover Boosted Actions for all 14 weapons.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
These are gameplay announcements, not performance tests. They do not establish that any announced action is specifically aerial, nor that a particular graphics setting will make it easier to execute. Smooth frame pacing and clear action readability are reasonable things to assess when the game is available, but no setting-to-combat benefit has been demonstrated for Ascendance.
Provisional PC guidance from the base game
Capcom’s August 13, 2026 update summary for base-game Ver. 1.042.00.02 says the latest game version is required for online multiplayer and DLC access. It also records efforts to address frame-rate drops in some environments after Ver. 1.042.00.01. This is base-game context, not an Ascendance performance guide.

That dated notice recommends NVIDIA GeForce driver 581.57 or newer and AMD Radeon driver 25.9.1 or newer. It warns that AMD 25.10.2 and higher caused issues on certain PCs, including some systems using RX 5500 XT or RX 7800 XT graphics cards. The warning is limited to certain configurations; it should not be read as applying to every AMD card or PC. The notice is subject to change, and its named driver versions are the ones in that August 2026 notice—not a claim about the newest drivers in October. Check the [official Steam update summary](https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2246340/view/531808367733493110) and current compatibility notices before changing drivers.
No Ascendance-specific settings-by-settings guide or benchmark evidence is established in the official material reviewed. Base-game settings and community modifications are not verified expansion advice.
