Community datamine and leak discussions have named Mizutsune, Zinogre, and Gogmazios as possible returning monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds. Those names are unconfirmed claims, not a Capcom-announced roster; the evidence described by the community differs for each monster. Capcom has confirmed that Lagiacrus and Seregios returned in Title Update 2, while its planned 2027 Ascendance expansion is expected to add monsters.
Which returning monsters are in the datamine discussion?
A community leak recap posted on January 18, 2025, discussed several possible monsters, but it did not establish a confirmed lineup. Its claims range from interpretations of file strings to an attributed leaker report, so they should not be treated as equally strong evidence—or as announcements from Capcom.

The community recap is useful for tracing what fans were discussing, but its interpretations are not official roster information. A separate spoiler-marked update megathread collates roadmap information, leaks, and datamine references; it is also community-maintained rather than authoritative.
What does a datamine actually tell you?
A datamine can reveal strings or assets present in a game’s files. It does not, by itself, show that the content is finished, will ship, or has been interpreted correctly. Development material can be incomplete or change, and a status string such as “HEAVY_OIL” is not the same thing as a named monster announcement.

When judging any returning-monster claim, separate four questions: who made the claim and when; whether it points to a raw file observation or a community inference; whether Capcom has independently confirmed the monster; and whether the relevant update has actually been released. A later official confirmation of one candidate does not validate every other claim in an older recap.
Which returning monsters has Capcom confirmed?
Capcom confirmed Lagiacrus and Seregios for Title Update 2 in its June 2025 presentation, as reported by Game Informer. The report describes them as 8-star tempered hunts with unlock requirements. Lagiacrus also requires completing a side mission; the update includes materials for themed weapons and armor.

That confirmation is a separate, stronger category of evidence from the earlier community claims about Mizutsune, Zinogre, or Gogmazios. It should not be used to imply that those other names were confirmed in the same update.

Capcom announced on June 8, 2026, that Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is paid expansion content planned for 2027. The company says it will continue the main story and add new quest ranks, locales, monsters, and expanded weapon actions. This establishes that additional monsters are planned for the expansion, but it does not confirm that any particular monster from the community leak discussion will be included. Capcom lists the base game as released on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The same 2026 announcement says Capcom is developing a Nintendo Switch 2 version, with details to follow; it does not give a release date or establish which platforms will receive Ascendance.

- Confirmed: Lagiacrus and Seregios were confirmed for Title Update 2 in June 2025.
- Community leak claims or inferences: Mizutsune, Zinogre, and Gogmazios appeared in the January 2025 recap, with different kinds of alleged clues behind them.
- Unsupported in that recap: Shagaru Magala was presented as an assumption, not a claim backed by actual evidence in the post.
- Future official content: Capcom says the planned 2027 Ascendance expansion will add monsters, but has not confirmed these specific candidates in the cited announcement.
