Ore locations in Monster Hunter Wilds depend on both region and rank. Use the table to find a region where your target ore is listed, then filter the map for Mining Outcrop icons and set a waypoint. The ore received from an individual outcrop is random within that region’s listed pool, according to PowerPyx’s February 26, 2025 guide.

This table reproduces the ore availability listed by PowerPyx. Choose a region where your target appears under the rank you are currently playing; the guide does not provide drop odds for individual ores.

How to find a mining outcrop
- Open the in-game map.
- Choose Filter Icons, select Gathering, then choose Mining Outcrop.
- Select a blue question-mark outcrop icon and set a waypoint. The guide says the Seikret can carry you to it.
The PowerPyx guide says the map is fully unfogged from the start, so its described filter-and-waypoint route can be used without first revealing map areas.

Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
How outcrop gathering and repeat farming work
Random ore drops
According to the guide, an outcrop can be gathered from three times in a row. The ore drop is random within the region’s pool: any outcrop in that region can yield any ore listed for it. The guide does not state the odds for a particular ore.
Refresh nodes by changing maps
For repeat farming, PowerPyx recommends gathering from outcrops in a region, fast traveling to another map, and returning. It also notes that an upsurge may add outcrops; check the environment overview for one.
Increase gathering with Geologist
The guide recommends Geologist Level 3, saying it doubles ore, and notes that the skill can come from armor or a Geology Jewel decoration. This is the guide’s advice; it does not establish a guaranteed result across every game version or condition.
What to do if you need Iron Ore or a High Rank ore
Iron Ore
PowerPyx lists Iron Ore only for Low Rank, in Windward Plains and Scarlet Forest. If you have reached High Rank and still need it, the guide suggests replaying Low Rank optional quests.

Ores listed only at High Rank
Several entries in the table appear only in the guide’s High Rank columns, including Novacrystal, Firecell Stone, Carbalite Ore, and Fucium Ore. Check the High Rank list for the region you can conveniently reach rather than searching Low Rank outcrops for an ore not listed there.

Search the table for the ore name and visit any region where it appears at your current rank. When an ore is listed in more than one region, choose based on travel convenience or on what other ores you also need. Because individual outcrop drops are random and the guide gives no drop-rate figures, visiting a region where an ore is listed does not guarantee that a particular node will produce it.
The location list and farming instructions are from a February 2025 guide. If a game update changes gathering behavior or map icons, check the current in-game map and environment overview.
