As of October 8, 2026, Capcom’s next announced major content release for Monster Hunter Wilds is Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, a paid expansion planned for 2027. Capcom has not announced an exact launch date. The previously announced Title Updates 2, 3, and 4 are past releases, not upcoming roadmap items.
What’s next for Monster Hunter Wilds?
The next major content announcement is Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, which Capcom describes as a massive paid expansion scheduled for 2027. Its announced additions include new quest ranks, locales, monsters, and expanded weapon actions. Capcom has not yet provided an exact release date or full feature list. Its June 2026 announcement says, “Further details will be announced in future official updates.” Capcom’s Ascendance announcement.

- Evolved Hunting Action – The series’ acclaimed action-packed gameplay is back and more exciting than ever! Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
Are Monster Hunter Wilds updates free?
The title updates discussed above are separate from the paid Ascendance expansion. Capcom’s Title Update 2 announcement labels it free, and PlayStation describes Title Updates 3 and 4 as releases for the game. Ascendance, by contrast, is explicitly a paid expansion. The announcement does not say that the previously released title-update content requires buying it.
Cosmetic DLC and bundles are separate
Cosmetic DLC and edition bundles are store products, not title updates. Capcom’s July 20, 2026 store notice says the Monster Hunter Wilds Gold Edition bundles the base game with the Cosmetic DLC Collection. The collection includes Cosmetic DLC Packs 1–4, the Festival of Accord DLC Packs Blossomdance, Flamefete, Dreamspell, and Lumenhymn, the Deluxe Pack, and the Extras Cosmetic DLC Pack. Capcom said the base game would receive a permanent price reduction starting August 4, 2026; current price and availability depend on the platform store and region. Capcom’s store notice.

The official game page lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Capcom separately lists the Nintendo Switch 2 version for December 4, 2026. That Switch 2 release should not be mistaken for a new update date on the other platforms. - Title update: a game update; check the announcement for whether it is described as free and what it adds.
- Expansion: Ascendance is a separate paid release, announced for 2027.
- Platform release: the Switch 2 launch is a version of the game for another platform, not evidence of a dated update for existing platforms.
- Past forecast: dates in older roadmap posts refer to the period when those posts were published. For example, the 2025 Title Update 2 announcement’s expected timing for Title Update 3 is historical; PlayStation lists Title Update 3 as released on September 29, 2025.
For changes announced after October 8, 2026, consult Capcom’s official newsroom and the game’s official page rather than treating an old milestone list as a live schedule.
