Monster Hunter Wilds’ first free Title Update arrived on April 4, 2025. Capcom confirmed the release date, but its accessible announcements did not give an exact release hour or a full platform-by-platform schedule. The “bubble blowing fox” is Mizutsune, the returning Leviathan added in the update.
When did Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 release?
Capcom announced April 4, 2025, as the release date for the first free Title Update. The announcement appeared on PlayStation.Blog on March 25, 2025; the official Capcom Europe video description also identified April 4, 2025, in BST. Neither source provides a verified release hour or a complete time-zone schedule by platform, so there is no confirmed exact local time to report. Who is the bubble-blowing fox?
It is Mizutsune, a returning Leviathan that Capcom describes as graceful but dangerous, attacking with debilitating bubbles. In Title Update 1, hunters can begin the Mizutsune hunt by speaking with Kanya at the Scarlet Forest Base Camp once they have reached Hunter Rank 21. The Grand Hub and Barrel Bowling
The Grand Hub is a new social gathering location in Suja, Peaks of Accord, with meals, hunter communication, squad management and Barrel Bowling. It is available from HR 16: speak with Tetsuzan in Suja to access it. Capcom’s update announcement

- Evolved Hunting Action – The series’ acclaimed action-packed gameplay is back and more exciting than ever! Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
Repeatable High Rank Zoh Shia
After the story encounter, hunters can take on High Rank Zoh Shia again through a new mission available at HR 50 or above. Capcom’s update announcement
Arena and Challenge Quests
Arena Quests let up to two hunters take on a quest with predetermined gear. Free Challenge Quests support up to four players without equipment restrictions. Capcom also announced limited-time rewards and worldwide rankings for these quests. Capcom’s update announcement

Later event quests and seasonal content
Some announced content had its own later dates rather than arriving on April 4:
- Festival of Accord: Blossomdance: scheduled for April 23 through May 7, 2025, with seasonal decorations and food, plus limited equipment, gestures and pop-up camp decorations.
- Arch-tempered Rey Dau: announced as an Event Quest for April 30, 2025, for hunters at HR 50 or above. The hunt rewards materials for forging its gamma hunter and Felyne sets.

No. Capcom described Title Update 1 as free and said it would arrive at no additional cost. Existing owners did not need to buy the base game again to get the update. Capcom’s announcement
