Monster Hunter Wilds’ first major update, Title Update 1, was a free update released on April 4, 2025. It added Mizutsune, repeatable High Rank Zoh Shia hunts, the Grand Hub social area, new challenge and event quests, and the Blossomdance festival. Access to some content required higher Hunter Ranks, and several launch events were available only for a limited time.
What did the first Monster Hunter Wilds update add?
Capcom announced Title Update 1 on March 25, 2025, and its corporate release confirmed the April 4, 2025 launch date. The update’s main additions spanned monster hunts, social features, quests, seasonal content, and customization. Capcom USA’s announcement on PlayStation.Blog described the update; Capcom’s March 31, 2025 release confirmed its scheduled arrival.

How do you unlock the Grand Hub and new hunts?
The original announcement set different Hunter Rank thresholds for the Hub and the new hunts. At HR 16, players could access the Grand Hub; Mizutsune was available from HR 21; and the repeatable High Rank Zoh Shia mission required HR 50. The Arch-tempered Rey Dau Event Quest was listed for hunters at HR 50 or above.

- Wild New Adventure – Monster Hunter Wilds follows the story of a special Research Commission investigating the Forbidden Lands. Fully voiced for the first time in the series, the hunter is joined in their journey by a colorful cast of characters, including a Palico partner, Guild-appointed Handler Alma, trusty smithy Gemma, and the mysterious child Nata. Together, the team ventures into an unexplored new frontier where surprises await around every corner.
- A Living World – The Forbidden Lands spans multiple biomes with dynamic identities, such as the Windward Plains and Scarlet Forest, where the ecosystems shift between vibrant seasons brimming with life, and unforgiving climates where monsters fight over limited resources. Changes in the landscape will impact the creatures that live there and push hunters to adapt as well.
- New Monsters and Wildlife – Monster Hunter Wilds features a variety of new creatures, ranging from herds of small species to large monsters – some of which roam the Forbidden Lands in packs. Every creature hunters encounter in the wild has carved out a special place in its habitat and possesses unique attacks and behaviors.
- Players can also now ride atop the Seikret, an agile new mount enabling hunters to traverse difficult terrain, perform actions like sharpening weapons on the move, and switch between two weapons while out on hunts!
- Evolved Hunting Action – The series’ acclaimed action-packed gameplay is back and more exciting than ever! Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
What could hunters do in the Grand Hub?
The Hub was designed as a shared place to gather and communicate. It included food, squad management, and Barrel Bowling, a mini-game in which hunters rolled barrel bombs to earn useful items and pendants. Capcom said vouchers could be obtained in more than one way, including through login bonuses.
Which parts were limited-time events?
Capcom’s original schedule placed Arch-tempered Rey Dau in an Event Quest beginning April 30, 2025, and the Blossomdance festival from April 23 through May 7, 2025. Those dates are historical; they should not be read as current availability. The announcement identified Rey Dau as limited-time content but did not specify a closing date for that quest in the information cited here.

Was Title Update 1 free?
Yes. Capcom described Title Update 1 as a free update, so its core additions—including Mizutsune and the Grand Hub—were not presented as a separate purchase. Cosmetic DLC was a distinct offer: Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 was planned for the update’s launch and was available to owners of the Cosmetic DLC Pass. Capcom said that pass was included in the Premium Deluxe Edition or could be purchased separately. The free update and the paid cosmetic option were separate.

Title Update 1 was announced for April 4, 2025 and Capcom reaffirmed that date on March 31. Monster Hunter Wilds launched on February 28, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, according to the same corporate release. Capcom reported more than 10 million Monster Hunter Wilds units sold worldwide as of March 31, 2025. Separately, it reported more than 108 million cumulative Monster Hunter series units as of December 31, 2024; that series-wide figure is not Wilds sales.
