The Monster Hunter Wilds and FINAL FANTASY XIV crossover is a two-way collaboration: Wilds added an FFXIV-inspired Omega Planetes encounter in Free Title Update 3 on September 29, 2025, while FFXIV added a Guardian Arkveld trial in Patch 7.35 on October 8, 2025. The events are separate in-game additions, with different progression requirements and rewards.
What are the Monster Hunter Wilds and FFXIV crossover events?
Capcom and Square Enix revealed the reciprocal collaboration at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19, 2025. The Wilds update brings creatures and job-inspired abilities from Eorzea into the Forbidden Lands; FFXIV turns Wilds monster Guardian Arkveld into a level-100 trial called The Windward Wilds. The announcements establish the launch dates and content, but do not report crossover participation or completion figures.

What did Monster Hunter Wilds receive?
Free Title Update 3 adds Omega Planetes to the Forbidden Lands, alongside FFXIV creatures and job-themed combat options. Wilds gives the collaboration a hunt-oriented form rather than reproducing an FFXIV duty.
Omega Planetes and its encounter
Omega Planetes is the central monster. The encounter can involve a Nerscylla Clone; defeating the clone creates a protective shield that players can use during Omega’s Delta Attack. A Morbol Seedling and Cactuar also appear as crossover creatures.

- Players can also now ride atop the Seikret, an agile new mount enabling hunters to traverse difficult terrain, perform actions like sharpening weapons on the move, and switch between two weapons while out on hunts!
- Evolved Hunting Action – The series’ acclaimed action-packed gameplay is back and more exciting than ever! Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
Dark Knight and Pictomancer-inspired actions
The update adapts elements of two FFXIV jobs into Wilds gameplay. Wearing Bale Armor α enables The Blackest Knight barrier action, and the Great Sword “Shadowbringer” has a dedicated weapon skill. Pictomancer spells are cast through an item-bar action, with Mog of the Ages as a finisher.
Wilds rewards
The listed collaboration rewards include Palico equipment, a Seikret decoration, a pendant, a gesture, hunter-profile elements and other cosmetics. These are Wilds-side rewards; they are distinct from the mounts, weapons and furnishings introduced in FFXIV.

- Download Monster Hunter Wilds Free Title Update 3.
- Reach Hunter Rank 41 or higher and complete the main mission “What Lies Ahead.”
- Take the special extra mission in the Iceshard Cliffs to face the collaboration content.
What did FINAL FANTASY XIV receive?
FFXIV’s main crossover content is The Windward Wilds, an eight-player, level-100 trial against Guardian Arkveld. It has Normal and Extreme versions. Its reward lineup includes Veldian weapons for the jobs, Hope armor, Seikret and Felyne Cart mounts, Seikret Fledgling and Vigorwasp minions, Wilds-themed furnishings, orchestrion rolls, framing kits and other items.
How to unlock The Windward Wilds in FFXIV
- Reach level 100 and complete the Dawntrail main scenario.
- Unlock the quest “The White Wanderer” to access the normal trial quest line.
- Meet the Normal duty’s average item-level requirement of 725 and enter with an eight-player party.
- After completing the normal quest line, speak with the Wandering Minstrel to unlock Extreme. The Extreme duty requires average item level 740 and an eight-player party.
How the two crossover sides differ
The collaboration shares monsters and themes, not a single linked quest or unlock. Wilds players pursue an extra mission featuring Omega Planetes and use special equipment-linked and item-bar actions; FFXIV players unlock a structured trial against Arkveld and can tackle its Extreme version after the normal quest line. Progress in one game is not listed as a requirement for the other.
