The Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy XIV crossover arrived in two parts: Wilds added an FFXIV-inspired mission and job-themed gear on September 29, 2025, while FFXIV added a Guardian Arkveld hunt on October 8, 2025. The two sides have different unlock requirements and rewards; Square Enix confirms the FFXIV duty is not limited-time.
What is in the Monster Hunter Wilds and FFXIV crossover?
The collaboration is a pair of game-specific updates, not one shared event. Monster Hunter Wilds brings Omega Planetes and mechanics inspired by FFXIV jobs into its own hunt-and-equipment systems. FFXIV, in turn, sends players after Guardian Arkveld in a special duty.

What does Final Fantasy XIV add to Monster Hunter Wilds?
Free Title Update 3 brought the FFXIV side of the crossover to Wilds on September 29, 2025. The mission begins with Alpha and Omega arriving in the Iceshard Cliffs. To access it, reach Hunter Rank 41 or higher and complete the main mission “What Lies Ahead.”

- Wild New Adventure – Monster Hunter Wilds follows the story of a special Research Commission investigating the Forbidden Lands. Hunters can look forward to tracking down monsters with an array of new moves, special abilities, equipment, and more. The action also now flows seamlessly from cutscenes to gameplay, resulting in a new level of immersion.
Dark Knight and Pictomancer-inspired mechanics
The update translates recognizable FFXIV jobs into Wilds-specific combat and equipment rather than simply importing their systems unchanged. Dark Knight content includes Bale Armor α, Soul of the Dark Knight, the defensive action The Blackest Knight, and the Greatsword “Shadowbringer.” Pictomancer can chain three spells into Mog of the Ages.
Customization rewards
Additional collaboration rewards include Palico equipment, a Seikret decoration, a pendant, a gesture, a hunter-profile background, poses, a nameplate, and a title. These additions are part of the Wilds update; the available official information here does not establish a limited-time end date for them.

How do I unlock the Arkveld fight in FFXIV?
In FFXIV, the crossover duty is called “The White Wanderer.” It requires level 100 and completion of the Dawntrail main scenario. Its destination, The Windward Wilds, has an average item-level requirement of 725 for the standard duty and 740 for Extreme. The FFXIV duty page describes the hunt as a mark bill that leads players, alongside a Felyne client and Seikret, to Guardian Arkveld.
- Reach level 100 and finish the Dawntrail main scenario.
- Unlock “The White Wanderer” and meet the average item-level requirement of 725 to enter The Windward Wilds.
- For Extreme, meet the higher average item-level requirement of 740.

Is the FFXIV crossover event limited-time?
No. Square Enix’s current duty page states, “This is not a limited time Duty.” That confirmation applies to the FFXIV duty; it should not be taken as confirmation about how long the Monster Hunter Wilds collaboration content will remain available.

Monster Hunter Wilds launched its crossover content with Free Title Update 3 on September 29, 2025. FFXIV launched Guardian Arkveld with Patch 7.35 on October 8, 2025. The dates describe past launches, not upcoming event windows. Square Enix’s 2025 launch notice also reported more than 30 million total registered accounts; that is a company-reported cumulative account figure, not an active-player count.
